MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 2)

They also found/made-up this doc too that says it a MPC Key 37.

You didnt like Jura?! I think its one of the best tbh. Really wanna pick it up.

Model D is the one I’m least convinced by.

I’m picturing a mini Miko style MPC. I would like that.

Makes sense. I mean the keyboard is MPC Key 61, right?

They named it like that knowing.

MPC mini running a different OS is pure clickbait. They have been streamlining more and more and what, so they make and maintain a third OS?!

I mean if you really like Junos it’s ok I guess. The lack of MIDI modulation options makes it a definite no.

It’s okay, I did spend an hour and half noodling around with it. It’s clunky for modulation but still something I can play around with a bit.

I’d love to see MPC’s get some kind of mod matrix, where you can put midi CC’s in and assign parameters to just about anything. Right now every synth plugin has its own ideas of what midi modulation is exposed.

You can use midi learn, but that’s with external devices. Been thinking about setting up a hardware midi loopback to simulate this.

The one thing that irks me about the MIDI Learn is I can only do a full scale override of the value.

I can’t just go and set the filter frequency to say 30% and then modulate up from there. When I do midi learn it becomes the whole range.

The Force doesn’t have that problem since it has macros (and internal 8 LFO and a MIDI envelope follower). The MPC has none of that.

Where are you getting the Black Friday deals? The prices on airmusictech looks pretty ordinary atm?

I got the organ for a tenner and it’s fantastic, I started the Jura demo and I’m just going to have to buy it because it’s amazing, will hold off until next week to see if it gets any cheaper I think but not likely.

Oh yeah, and I also splashed out on Flavour Pro just because it’s a thing I use a lot.

Nice one, Yeah it’s a keeper

Oh I meant like are those Black Friday prices on that site.

After checking, I’m not sure they are.

Got it, no I don’t think they are

Yea - I’m holding out waiting for Jura to go on sale.

There’s 16 LFO/envelope followers on the Force.

Same.

I did download Jura and try it during the free trial period. I didn’t hear anything in the presets that I stood out compared to the VA tones in the MC-101/707, so I passed on buying it at that time… I had spent a good part of that year working on music on the 707 so I may have been kind of burnt out on Roland VA tones.

That said, at a low enough price, I think it would be worth having that kind of sound onboard my MPC for the convenience. I also later found out Jura has its own reverb and arpeggiator, which might be an interesting change from using the MPC’s regular arps and FX.

Jura’s delay has a slider that can take delay mix to 100% - no dry at all! :joy:

Yeah, I’ve already decided that I’m going to grab Jura, I can just feel the dirty looks coming from the SH01a and JU06a corner of my room but it’s just much more convenient and feature rich than the boutiques and needs no farting around with a midi cable and an audio cable. (I almost exclusively work with the Live 2 on my lap while lounging on a bed/sofa).

I want these things but I’m not sure about making the switch. Ergonomics of my MPC X are so good, as are the 8 outs.
