Can’t think of any other hardware synth/sampler maker that does it either.
Yet another business opportunity for Akai, or their owner In Music. Oh wait, that would take business away from those two stores. Never mind.

Cause they are selling the MPC Gold, Retro, … why would they sell a retro skin when they are also selling a MPC Retro full price?
They can do both & if they had to pick 1 method, I would think more people would buy multiple skins than a whole new unit if they wanted a new color & on top that the color options they offer is very limited. I wouldn’t buy any of those colors. Gold is too nasty looking, Retro to me is corny & reminds me of 80’s computers which some people love because it’s the OG color so I can understand the appeal, the red is only for the One+, but I wouldn’t want that either.
They could set up a part of the company that just made all kind of custom skins. It just seems like easy money since there’s already a market for it. There has to be a better reason than the point you made that I’m not aware of for why they don’t do it.
Also they could’ve been selling this way before they even started making the gold, retro, red units. MPC skins ain’t a new thing. MPC-Stuff has been selling them since the mid-2000s.
I’d like one in sea foam green
I bet you’re not the only One . There’s money in custom skins when you think about all the Akai devices from the MPC60 to the Force & all the users that would want multiple skins for their units. Imagine a Prince purple s900/950. The possibilities are endless!
Purple rain special edition MPC with 12 bit Prince samples bank loaded……
Nah, I just want the option to buy different skins & wonder why Akai never got into it. Don’t even like purple like that or Prince it’s was just an example.
This is awesome! I need to learn how use a mixer like that!
That"ll be hard with the artist that was formerly alive being currently dead.
Not really. The estates of these deceased artists typically run wild trying to hoover up some remaining $ however possible. Many hip hop artists have more posthumous albums published than when they were alive.
I love the drum FX! It’s such a fast way to mix a drum kit! Really enjoyed the video, learned some new things, like how easy they are to automate.
Had never even learnt they existed. Awesome.
I found out that many others don’t know which part of way I’m posting this video all over. Sharing is mother-fn’ caring!
I’d share it but I got no one to share it with
now the could put in efforts into a good sounding reverb
Based on how many people requested it & that they just gave us a good delay FX, hopefully it will be next the FX they’ll offer or at least make the Jura reverb standalone.
Akai never gives what their fan base requests.
So because many people keep requesting it, I doubt we’ll see one…
Well then in that case, I hope Akai never gives us the best reverb ever!
sometimes they do… I specifically asked for the sample freeze/print in place on the pads, and they did it exactly, as well as the track explode feature.
