I thought he used MPC 2000?

No,its all MPC 60 vibes….

He made about a zillion chops and edits on it and i think that was enough for him.Not suprised. That and he (he wrote once) that he did not want to be identified with one piece of kit ectect…he was a drummer before also so….

-interesting story is in the late 90s i lived in Northern California and bought this album new.I went to a garage sale and while i was looking through the records for something to sample i put the album down….when i turned back it had been grabbed and sold!!! Pretty funny ))

Interesting. I’ve been misinformed for 25 years and always half lusting after a 2000 or 2000XL as a result….

I’m so dawless, I’m so flawless.
Y’all converters are so aweless

Has anybody gotten an error code 71?
Does anyone have a list of error codes?
I’m on a mpc live 1, but ive confirmation of mpcforums that this has happened on mpc x and mk2. This shit crashed on me in the middle of a rehearsal yesterday, i dont think ill be using the mpc in a live setting again :pensive: suggestions on other gear that can do something similar would be appreciated.

Ironically prefuse 73’s music was quite different after he started fudging with maschine too, but anyway these guys are good on whatever, but especially MPCs

I had the MPC4000 for a long while and then went out and bought the new maschine mk 1 but was left wanting. It felt very different,on the light side.So it went back……i guess its what you get used too.In the last week ive purchased a Roland MV8800 (amazing sound/feel) and another MPC Live 2 ))

The Force OS is more stable & it has many of the same features & some Force only features like disk-streaming, a way deeper macro system, 16 envelope followers that can be used as 16 LFOs, the arranger, a better mixer view, a clip based sequencer. You’ll get need an external clock to handle tempo changes or get 1 of the hacked OS that has that feature.

I just posted this video above & thought it was a honest kinda in depth review on the Force. He covered how the Force & MPC are the same & unique. Did you see the post or considered in the Force?

Air Jura really sounds like a standalone Juno VST.

Does anybody have any success with getting the MPC Live 2 to get in full sync with Ableton via Ableton Link?

Seems to work ok when I start the the sequence from the “Ableton Control” section in the MPC, or even when I start the sequence via Ableton itself, but when I press start from the stand-alone section in the MPC it always starts a few measures late. I tried messing with the clip quantize in Ableton as well, but if I go below 1/16, it goes completely out of sync.

(Also I do not get a proper pre-count when starting from the MPC stand-alone, which bugs me a little)

Ableton Control and Ableton Link are independent/separate features for Ableton that aren’t designed to work together (AFAIK).

I find Ableton Link to be quite solid with the MPC, but it depends what your goal is. I use it when I want to have Ableton as my master seq/clock and the MPC as a drum machine/sound source… so I’ll jam things out on the MPC until I’m happy, then record it (audio) into Ableton.
Once it’s in Ableton I’ll edit the audio files if I need to if there’s any minor timing misalignment.

Press play on either the live 2 or live right before the start of the next bar.

After hearing those converters converting, I’m a convert.

Yeah, seems like it. Too bad, so close to getting it to work
I wanted to get my rytm, octatrack, and mpc all in sync via Ableton.

The more gear, the more technical issues/distractions lol

This 40 min tutorial by Conan AKA The Crates Motel goes deep in on how to use the built-in tools via the Drum FXs & the stock insert FXs. Funny thing is he didn’t even use any of the Flavor FXs to dirty up anything. He did show how to use the Lofi FX to better emulate an SP-1200. But the best thing about this demo was Conan’s wisdom & the mentality needed to get the dirt you want!

Do anyone have tips on getting dirty on the new MPCs?
