I mean there needs to be some sort of separation or you’d accidentaly add notes when you want to zoom etc.
It could be a button combo though, e.g. shift + pinch to zoom
It doesn’t bother me that much. I play everything in by hand and then because my timing sucks edit a few notes in the piano roll. For that it works fine.
But then I don’t really mind the way you do this on the MPC 500 either, where you have to navigate (not scroll!) through a list of events to find the one you want and then edit it using a scroll wheel.
So what do I know.
I love the list edit view, is like having granular superpower levels of control
Well kids…
Get yer credit cards ready. If I’m right we should see the MK3 any minute now. (big time J.K…)
I guess I better log out of this thread and start looking at the Octatrack for beginners & DT users thread.
I know the MPC would get me the slicing but Im just so happy in the Elektron sequencer and I have no plans to ditch DT.
I reckon that’s the entire point of the MPC really.
Don’t get me wrong, the piano roll could be improved, sure…
But it was originally just there for tweaking the odd mistake.
So, don’t make so many mistakes.
Cheers!

when’s the mini d on sale? not paying 80 quid for the plugin, when the same plugin on the Akai site is 80 dollars for US customers, always get screwed with currency difference in the UK, same with all their plugins.
quick question as maybe doing a trade, how much is a retro mint mpc one worth?. its more than the standard I know but how much more?
I got my retro new for the same price as the original. I’d never pay more for a color difference. Looks like there’s a retro on reverb for 579 right now.
the retro looks so much better though:)
Don’t use reverb so is this £ or $
“3k Vintage-mode is on point. Hopefully this will stop all the hate the new MPC for its “poor sound”. I hope he does the MPC-60 & the SP-1200.”
Agree.
The difference is not the sound.
It is stable & tight midi timing and no latency.
what can you do with an MPC?
After making that album he never used his MPC 60 again………so he says.
Maybe that’s the reason he never made anything remotely as good as that.
that album is a testament to what you can do with whichever kind of instrument you have that kind of synergy with, and if that is an MPC then … so be it.
You can really hear those converters converting.
