It’s a Music Production Centre
To beat a dead horse some more, polyend are marketing the new tracker as a full audio workstation… it’s a DAW!!
Well if renoise is one, why not the polyend tracker?
Basically every modern synth/groovebox is a computer, running a software. There is no DAWless anymore unless you play the banjo.
Cool bro, you win!
Wikipedia is usually a good source
They literally mention ”stand-alone” in the second paragraph….
Yep, but some people just need to be right.
This is worse than the crypto thread
Imagine thinking a DAW is bad. But then again, some people like eggplant, and instant coffee. So you never can tell.
oooooh “retro” beige? no thanks. i already lived thru the 90’s.
Thought i was on the mpc facebook pages or youtube comments for a moment here
actually it looks a lot better to me now, it was just that pic but seeing it from diff angles it’s nice… still would rather diff knobs though…
still gotta pay separate for Mini D? lol c’mon
Haven’t watched the review but… really?!
Who uses internal memory? Isn’t everyone using a SSD (where possible) or SD Card for own data?
Is anyone missing RAM? I never came close with my Force…
Did they just missed to mention something? It doesn’t sound like a device, that I would pay over 700$ more than for the old X and I wouldn’t buy as a replacement if I had a X already.
This is somewhat of the least innovativ and boring release ever.
like a guitar or piano
check on the internal storage if you can find a folder with MIDI templates or something (I can‘t remember exactly, unfortunately)… there should be thousands of files inside, lots of duplicates. delete the whole folder… it‘s some bug which causes all sorts of stuff, like MIDI mapping issues and overall slow performance
The Force has disk streaming so RAM is less of a problem. The MPC DO NOT. However, plugins like Fabric XL require a lot of memory in order to load strings or brasses patches. So with 3 Fabric XL instances, your 1GB RAM could be filled at 70%. The OS already takes 1GB, so having 3GB available instead of 1GB RAM when using Fabric XL absolutely makes sense.
If you don’t care about Fabric or other memory heavy plugins then 4GB won’t change anything for you.
Ah, didn’t know that about the plug-ins. just got the FM and the D and am happy with that. with lots of fabric (I think it’s sample based synthesis?) that might make sense a lot!
