Move or copy a Part inside project?

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to move or copy a Part inside project ?

My goal is to move a part from a bank to another, and then reorganize my patterns with their sounds.

I’ve looked everywhere in manual / internet and now I’m afraid I can’t ?

Thank for your help

In the current project, goto the part, and Function+Copy,
Got to the bank/pattern you want to paste too, open the Part window, Function+Paste.

This works across projects too.

There’s also OctaEdit.

Wow, didn’t know this worked across projects. I thought there was zero inter-project movement possible ITB. Very helpful, thanks!

Amazing, thanks !

Please help me, I am lost. OT mk2

Parts store machines, settings, FX. Patterns – trigs, locks.
How can I change the corresponding part for the pattern in different bank?
For example, I want to have the same pattern (A1 and B1), but linked to different Parts.

I copy part A into part B.
Then I copy Pattern A1 into Pattern B1

But, B1 will be tied to Part A (since A1 was tied to Part1), so when I will chose B1 it will play mess (not exectly what A1 should play)
So I want A1 be linked to Part1 and B1 to Part2 and sound exactly the same, so I can change from there B2.
Please hep

Every Bank has own 4 Parts.
So you cannot link Patterns in Bank-B to Parts used in Bank-A.
I think you need to copy Part-1 to Part-2, but this Part-2 in Bank-B.
Try rename Parts to see exactly which one actually you are playing.

Tried that as well. For some reason did work.

There’s actually no way not to have this… Parts are per bank, just by going to a different bank you are using a different part, and there is no other option…

You might be experiencing tracks carrying over from the previous part, by default they do not update to the new parts parameters until a trig is reached on the track… This can be overidded globally with “silence tracks” option in the main menus or per track using the “start silent” option in the pattern settings…

The process would be once you have your pattern A1 and it’s part where you want them…
Copy pattern A1 and paste to B1
Copy the part from A1 and paste to B1

After this they will both sound the same but be using a different part…

I tried it, but it does not work for some reason

Pattern info is transered correctly, but the samples information (which to play) is not
Damn, it is so frustrated)

That should happen when you paste the part onto the part selected for the copied pattern, check the part menu and make sure the part that you pasted to is the part that is selected…

Are you changing anything inbetween copy/pasting the part and copy/pasting the pattern?
Does the OT give you confirmation that you pasted a part when you do?
Are you pasting it after you switch banks?

OMG, It worked
I don’t know exectly how, but will try a couple of time to learn it
Thank you very much!
You are my hero

However, I don’t know how to replicate it (happened once by accident).
I figured out, that you can link B1 to any Part, but it does not help me.
