This is a really interesting analog poly synth announced at Superbooth this year. 6 voice, each voice seems to have a BBD resonator for karplus-strong and other sounds. Full multitimbrality with individual outputs as well!
He says in the video without VAT price is around 1950 (assumed Euro).
Sounds very interesting, I could see this working out really well in a mix. Love seeing resonator-based architectures. I’m not familiar with Morphor but I think this is one of the most interesting things I’ve seen from SB25.
So like Frap Tools they bring along their Eurorack expertise to system level. Frap so far is including the keyboard with it, eight voice bi-timbral, with their Magnolia. Both are analog, with slightly unusual voice architectures.
Good to see this has both MPE and poly-aftertouch interfaces. The separate outputs would be nice in particular if you set it up completely multitimbral, but less essential otherwise.
I put the two pictures above, because i like the look. No screen, or even a number display. ![]()
I am also feeling some of a kindred vibe to the all digital Erica Steampipe, though all three are quite different.
Morphor was to be at the Dutch Modular Fest in Rotterdam today. Pretty sure they would be showing the Echon 6 at the show. Did anyone stop by and see it ? Any reactions.
They are also going to be at Machina Bristronica later this month.
I expect there have been some major improvements made on it. Maybe a release date now too.
From Machina Bristronica 2025 :
This has really come a long way. Analog physical modelling / Karplus Strong is a real challenging synth design, but you can see the pay-offs here too. The designers should be happy.
Another synth that won’t be all sweet spots, ( like the UDO DMNO and the Hydrasynths ), but that opens it for more options as a result.
The physical design of this is really beautiful.
Not sure if the sound is for me, but I really like the design of this device :).
£2000, ETA March 2026. We will probably be able to test it at Superbooth ![]()
So i listened to a section of Sonic Talk 863, where both Ben Wilson ( DivKid ), and Gaz, who both had a chance to see the Echon 6 at Machina Bristronica, expressed their praise for that system.
Gaz was accompanied by Richard Nicol of Pittsburgh Modular, who he said shared his enthusiasm.
Pittsburgh has done gear with BBD delays.
such a genius concept. i love the idea of analog physical modelling with exciters and resonators using bbd circuits

Those sound astonishingly good to me !
Those really exceeds my expectations.
I like the ideas and the practical ideas on the soundcloud, but it has a chopped off high-end lo-fi character that is grating to my ears :\
I think this is the problem: https://youtu.be/qQusmde9qjQ?t=140
The noise sounds awful and lacks any high-end, so it also can’t make higher frequencies of the resonator speak.
I’m kinda torn on the sounds as well. Some are quite compelling, ethereal, brooding, emotional even. Others do seem lacking to me. I don’t think I will be an early adopter of this one but I will keep an eye on it. I dig it conceptually and visually.
They’ve started to take pre-orders, so it’s a good time to check it out again with some fresh material ![]()
