I have one of the first release versions of the Voyager. Had it for years.
There’s at least one modification I’m interested in doing if I can get the details on the mod - the filter glide mod which causes the filter to track the glide.
I have a local tech who ought to be able to do the job, but I need details on what to change. Anyone have or know where to get the instructions / circuit diagrams?
There’s also a slew rate mod, which opens the filter a bit more. Details on that would be good too.
It’s the filter glide tracking mod though - that’s the one I’m really after. Neither seem to cover it. I’ve dropped Lintronics a message though, just to see if they can help.
Rudi at Lintronics already replied. Apparently he can do a whole suite of updates, but I’d need to send over to Germany. For info, here’s his list:
memory expansion (1024 presets)
slew rate mod
oscillator locking fix
filter glide
better aftertouch
touch surface mod
VCA noise reduction
pitch bend mod
new buttons
OS version 3.6
New buttons would be good. Mine are a bit worn-out.
I just had my Voyager RME installed with the Slew Rate mod. The Moog factory in Asheville will do this for you if you don’t want to ship to Germany. The synth is noticeably brighter with the mod, almost as though the filter opens up a bit higher.
I’m in the U.K. though. US shipping would be prohibitive.
Btw - Voyager is 40lbs. I reckon I’d need a proper flight case too. Any suggestions on good flight cases for the Voyager? Wonder what shipping might roughly cost for something this size and weight?
Got a response from them. They reckon they can do all the mods I mentioned. Even if they can just replace the buttons and give me the filter glide, that would be good. …but may as well do everything that’s possible, whilst they have it.
HHB have completed all of the mods. Only thing they weren’t able to do was update the digital board with the extra patch storage. I wasn’t actually interested in that one anyhow. 256 patches is more than enough for me!
Mods include - slew rate, glide filter tracking, aftertouch improvements, lower noise floor, sync improvement and various other bits and pieces. New menu buttons also fitted.
Voyager is back on its perch and sounding luvverly. Thanks for the suggestion!
