Cheap parts and poor QA. They are still charging for a Moog synth, this is not one.
They haven’t updated their warranty in over a year, smells like shady practices
What’s going to happen after you own it for a few months and it shits the bed?.

How is it not a Moog synth?
It’s been in the works for 5 years, way before Moog was sold.
It’s still assembled in the USA, just like before. I very much doubt all the parts before were manufactured in the USA either. Do old Moog’s say anywhere that they are 100% born and raised in the USA from soil to filament to circuits to hardware? I somehow doubt that.
Also how do you know quality control is worse? Where’s your proof?
From the way you’re talking it sounds like you’re envious of those that can purchase this and trying to convince them not to buy it so that no one has any fun.
is the only randomization the Muse has the Random trig feature at the 29:02 mark of Loopops video?
with all of the stuff this thing has I would have thought a more intelligent randomizing feature would be on board?
It’s an entirely Moog Moog. Maybe it’s people that just want to talk themselves out of it. Maybe some just want to do the standard internet thing.
It’s a REALLY nice sounding (and Moog sounding) Moog. Not sure how there could be any argument.
It’s a Moog, has new features that people want in this era of synthery, so they put in what makes them Moog, and then put in newer things that push the boundaries a bit. If you don’t want a Moog, then that’s cool, but if you want a modern polyphonic Moog, you have two proper options, and this one is accessible, and sounds very nice. It also appears to be built nicely.
Haven’t seen anything yet that would give me cause to complain. Ok, I would have made it PolyAT. Otherwise…
There are of course plenty of other synths out there, but for anyone in the market for a Moog poly analog with a price that more humans can afford, I think it’s pretty clear that this is that synth.
watching the used market get flooded with sequentials / summits / prologues / matriarchs
there’s probability stuff in the sequencer
I saw that but I meant randomization for patch creation like where you can randomize parameters and keep what you like but continue randomizing other parameters until you get something you like etc… an intelligent randomizer I guess like on the nord leads…?
Can you disable those two rapidly flickering red leds that are constant? Its right in the middle almost and i find them irritating… guess they could be covered over with tape.
Edit just read manual. The clock leds i think can be turned off in clock menu instead of listening?
Take the negative energy and bad vibes elsewhere please. Calling us delusional is completely uncalled for and inappropriate behaviour.
If you can back up your statements with facts, we’ll be happy to hear it. But childish name calling has no place here.
Also wondering if the chord feature has any kind of spread parameter so that the chords don’t sound mechanical triggering at the same time etc…?
Has his post left you . . .

No just….Musing

Should I sell my Matriarch and get this? I’m very tempted. It would be foolish to own both at the same time. Even though I love the sound of Matriarch and I don’t mind the patching, the Muse seems more immediate plus the sequencer plus the delay/reverb thing. And the price is great for what they offer. HMMMMMMMMM.
If your happy keep it. The next shiny thing always looks better on paper.
That’s true most of the time but this time it’s the same company delivering a product with a similar sound + A LOT more possibilities and immediacy. I’ll have a good think but I might as well do the switch.
Sometimes less is more. The extra stuff can be a hindrance to your workflow. The beautiful thing about the Matriarch is in its simplicity.
I agree with you in principle but I am still GASsing hard. There’s no way I’ll keep both if I get the Muse so I’ll see how it goes.
I don’t hear much of a similar sound at all really, despite the shared DNA. For me much of the Matriarch’s appeal is the massive bass and analog delay, a poly that by necessity has to be more restrained and has a (cool sounding) digital delay is a pretty different proposition.
I’m actually surprised by feeling like they could work together based on a lot of the demo sounds, I wasn’t expecting that at all. That’d be too much Moog for me personally though
I agree its not the same sonic palette. More restrained.
