Moog minitaur question(s)

Hi there!

recently acquired a moog minitaur.

question:

  • when you are in a preset; is there a way to toggle back to ‘manual/panel mode’?
  • also: is there a get an INIT sound?

(so basically to hear the sound at which the physical knobs are set).

I think Preset 0 (or 1) is always the Panel.

…no presets…no default…it’s the most simple truu analog circuit in classic moog fashion…
really no need for any kind of total recall…it’s the best one trick pony for all sorts of synth bass sounds, dialed in within seconds…

keep in mind, for providing the most solid lowest octave possible in truu analog fashion, this thing gives out the same pitch from c4 upwards…

so this little beast is ur BASSline “only”…but ALWAYS, no matter what, delivers one of the most essential ingredients to find in all sorts of music…

so, in this case, the term “one trick pony” is a huuuuuge advantage and compliment…!

to be fair, even the minitaur has quite a few ‘hidden’ / under the hood settings. so an init/recall would be nice.

thanks @tchu for the tip about preset 0!!! will check that out

For presets, you may install moog’s editor.

Add: This synth is simple but can get deeper with midi control on the editor> extended mode (I’m using bitwig)

Accessing presets via the Digis is awesome as opens up an easier way to use them without having to resort to the desktop editor. Editor still great for extra tweaks and creating presets. Top combo.

huh? how do you do this?

program change.

this may also be handy:

so you can save panel settings without a computer basically.

The above are “hold GLIDE” as shift and then they do the thing.

The DT/DN/ST/OT have a Page on their MIDI Tracks where you can set :

For me, that’s why those boxes are so powerful with other Synths. No need to write down the Presets, it’s all saved with the Patterns.

indeed, very handy, thanks guys!

Does anyone know whether these settings are accessible via MIDI? I’m building a Minitaur template for my Faderfox UC4 and I’d like to add these as well.
