I’m guessing 1299 CAN$.
So $14,000 usd.
One of the best looking Moogs, imho.
… or just a Moog with patches that has a more common size and form. Most of their stuff is still really big and heavy and synths tend to become smaller these days.
Seems like a perfectly cromulent Moog. Two oscillators + sub + noise with filter and an ASDR for filter and amp each. Sequencer is the most notable addition. Not a lot of shock value, just a very solid entry-line synth with a more classic Moog profile than the 𝑥mothers.
If this is mono, I think the price could be surprisingly low. Like Minitaur territory.
This is a good point. The Subsequent synths are very sexy, but can be heavy and awkward to try and take places. The Messenger looks like something you could tuck under your arm and go.
The GM is 2.5 octaves long too.
You can compare pictures: it is a bit longer and a bit less deep.
If it will be under 1K, I’ll eat a Monologue.
According to that trailer it can do bird tweets, waterfall noises , hammering sounds and some synths stuff.
And I’d guess that trailer has added $$ to each sale …
I didn’t hear anything new but they need new product , I’m sure sales of their other stuff has slowed down. I’d guess it’s overpriced .
Yet it looks like the sort of run of the mill analog mono you see others selling for ~£400
It’s a win win. If it’s good then people will likely buy it. If it’s bad, they will talk about how much better the Grandmother is and inMoog are back to selling more of those
If it is good I’ll sell my grandmother.
Don’t shoot the Messenger, but I simply loved the video and the track associated with it.
Nice work Moog.
Sounds good, I’ll probably give it a whirl.
I’m puzzled at how many people are already claiming some sort of major drop in quality due to the inmusic acquisition , based on just these few images and short commercial alone
It looks very much moog-ish to me still and not too far off the design language of the dark grandmother & sub37(minus the wood cheeks). Some of the controls allude to cool and unique features. I like what im seeing so far. I think this will fill the void of the recently discontinued sub25 within moog’s lineup
Zoom out. Looks to me like some are trying to create a certain narrative like “my american moog is more valuable than your inmusic moog” thus affect used prices. It’s the chilling effect.
People have done the same thing with each new iteration of the brand.
Even though they are still making and selling a minimoog reissue, people are somehow mad that whatever other products they make and sell are not minimoogs.
Looks to me from the design like it’s trying to hit the sub-$1k mark in particular, so I’d take that bet. But then, I thought the Muse would clock in at $5k, so I have a horrible track record with this stuff.
