I am the type to like uniform colour, but I’ve found the colour on the original Matriarch super useful. At first, I didn’t even realize I was benefitting from it. I’m not sure how much of a difference it truly is, but I’ve grown to quite like the colour version and though I could trade in, I’m not going to.
I find that it does, having patched just about all the patches I could find in the 4 or 5 official Moog Patchbooks - at least the ones that don’t require external gear, which is more than half of the Lightbath Patchbook.
great video!
Did anyone ever manage to get in touch with Moog support ?
This is the worst support ever (assuming that there is a support).
Matriarch is so full of bug I want to throw it through the window. Since, every time I turn it on I record very cool stuff.
I found some useful little tips in there. There’s something cool about pausing the vid to see where the cables are going.
Anyone know if this velocity issue was fixed already?
The post you tagged was from Sep. 2020. No new firmware has been released since that date.
The velocity issue applies mostly to players who have very refined control over lower velocity values - eg. classically trained pianists. So for them, the problem is not with how loud you can play with velocity, but how soft.
I think the reason the velocity curve is ok for me is, I’m quite a bit more ham-fisted with the keys.
I’ve contacted Moog support before and they were tremendous. super responsive and helpful. if you have firmware issues, there may not be much they can immediately do for you other than say “I’ll report the issue to our team.” but at least they’ll be aware of whatever issues you’re having.
damn that’s the best Matriarch video out there for sure. not surprised Knobs could really make it shine. if I didn’t already have one, I’d be hunting for one now!
Please tell me how to, at least, reach them…
Love this video.
FWIW, if you register your Matriarch then you can download 8 of these patches from the Moog site.
when I had to have things repaired, I just opened a support ticket with the item after I’d registered it to my account (looks like I did this as far back as 2010). they also have a live chat option on the site that appears to be responsive. what options have you tried?
I tried the options you mentioned. Like 10 times.
Edit : wait, did I even register my unit…?
My same experience. And i am in Germany…
Just give them some time to respond.
It’s been 6 months.
I’ve registered my unit, let’s see if it changes anything.
Thanks for the heads up! I got a hold of those patch books - there’s some interesting stuff in them. I have been thinking about adding some passive function modules and those patches are definitely making me wanna sort that out.
I haven’t received the synth I paid for earlier this week and I already want this thing
GAS is bad
This is a possible next direction I may explore. Generative ambient patch.
