I was jamming with a friend, he had his machinedrum as master, and my monomachine synced as slave + a midi keyboard as well to play live or input notes in realtime recording, Using a midi merger (um-550) to get the synth and machinedrum streams merged.
Somehow, at some point when doing this, I ended up with the whole 6 tracks being erased and the pattern reset to only 16 steps (instead of 64 I was using).
I wonder if anyone faced the same issue and identified why this is happening?
I would think you accidentally jump to another pattern, most probable thing…
@LyingDalai this is not what is happening, the pattern stays put (not switching at any point) but it basically gets cleared on all tracks and reset to 16 steps, like if I was switching to an empty pattern.
The kit doesn’t move, AFAIU it is only happening if I have realtime recording on the monomachine.
I’ll try to reproduce it with exact steps.
Have you saved the kit ?
The kit were remaining unaffected.
We tried again this time with ableton live as a midi clock master and the machinedrum on separate midi port, and it didn’t do it so I think there are some messages that the machinedrum sends (related to transport?) that makes the monomachine go crazy when in realtime record.
Maybe some Program Change ?
How is your MD configured, on the Sync and Control screens ?
