Genelec 8030s have served me faithfully for 10 years and I prefer then to my newer Pioneer RMs pair. The bass is lighter and my tracks play out with heavier bass than expected but its ok coz all trouble frequencies are balanced (100hz + etc). Definition is amazing at low levels ,while they hold as monitors at venues too.

Thank you to everyone who shared opinions. I’m hoping to pick up a pair of Focal Alpha 50’s. I think they will be good for me, but I might have to save a little longer.
