Model Samples Midi Monologue

Hey everyone. I trust yall are well.

Im having a time syncing the M:S to the Korg Monologue.
I can search and read over midi but nothings getting me there.
Could be me. What I want:

When I Start a sequence on the Monologue, the beat of the M:S is in time.
So the two match. Simple righ?
Well Novation tried to walk me through (with my BS2) and couldnt help( I was asking about the BS2 not the Korg).

So Monologue and Model Samples in sync. Ive cables and an interface.

Please help my recovering brain!!!

Cheers

Connect the MIDI Out port of the Monologue to the MIDI In port of the M:S using a working MIDI cable.

On the Monologue:

  • in the Global settings, set MIDI Route to ā€œUSB+MIDIā€.

On the M:S:

  • in the CONFIG > MIDI > SYNC menu, set CLK IN to ā€œONā€, and
  • in the CONFIG > MIDI > PORTS menu, set INP FROM to ā€œMIDIā€.

Thanx Man.
After I got running, Monologue starts acting up.
Power flashes when its on. Lights on, Lights out.

F!!!

Bad. I figured it was still tuning first.
It does this without making an adjustments or connections.
Power on. Play for a bit and it flashes.
Im leaning towards, somethings not fully connected inside.

May be an obvious thing but is your monolouge on batteries or plugged in?

Plugged in. Ive been running around my place trying to find two more AAs!!!
When the vibes there but shits outta whack!!!

I havenā€™t owned a monolouge in a few years now (I do miss it) but is there a factory reset that could be performed? Perhaps itā€™s just faulty? Maybe get with korg and see if there is a way to troubleshoot with someone. Iā€™m just spitballing

I appreciate it. I sent a video to Korg. Im tempted to do a reset.
I saved over presets but neglected to rename some.
Its not really a big deal as I can dial shit in.
If not, im not losing a money track or anything.

Hi All, Iā€™m new here since I got my Model Samples some days ago. Great device from an UX point of view, good stock samples. But midi drives me nuts.

After several days I got managed to connect and sync my stuff together, with the M:S as master clock and MIDI master. So it went with MIDI to the Drumbrute impact. From there with MIDI to the Microfreak and then Clock out to the Monologue.
Fine so far for Start/Stop and Clock.

No iā€˜m simply and solely try to connect the M:S as Master and the Korg Monologue as MIDI slave, I want to sequence the Mono from the M:S. No idea how to achieve this.

What I checked so far on the M:S:

  • MIDI Out is active
  • MIDI Polarity Std or Inv makes no change
  • Respective track is on Midi Out Channel 3
  • MOUT is activated for the track
  • Track is not muted
  • Track has a defined sequence

Settings on the Mono:

  • MIDI is activated
  • MIDI In is on Channel 3

Does anyone have a bright idea what else is to be checked?

All the best, Beteigeuze

I am having the same problem, trying to send clock through MIDI to my Monologue. It seems to be a common problem. If I find anything that works Iā€™ll post here.-

Edit: It seems on teh M:S that Output Polarity must be STD (I diagnosed this by setting a pad to manually send out a MIDI note to my Korg).

Second, Out/Thru must be set to OUT

Interestingly, the tempo on the KORG seems to follow the M:S even if the sequence on the M:S is stopped, that is, I can change the tempo on teh M:S even when it isnā€™t playing, adn the Korg tempo will change in response.
