Model Cycles out of stock?

I have noticed the Model Cycles is out of stock everywhere
is it discontinued?

It’s not officially discontinued until it appears in Legacy Products | Elektron

Inclusion there also doesn’t mean extended support ends.

Thomann and at least one swedish store has it, but another swedish store has a big Elektron assortment but none of the model: boxes even listed

you should try even digitone 1 used is much better than a cycle for the kinds of autechre sounds

I have the DN1, i like the M:C more

the low headroom is fantastic and the Tone machine is brilliant, i have done complete track just with the Tone from drums to bass and pad.

DN1 is cool but does not sound good as the MC

it’s the recent custom firmware that raised the popularity of the cycles. wait for a couple of weeks things will settle. i prefer 100% digitone, but everyone have it’s favorites ! i also have the syntakt so no model cycles for me.

haha :joy: happens quick.

i had Syntakt too, I sold it, MC sounds better as well

Syntakt and Digis do not have the low headroom implementation that is present on the Model Line

which firmware? I am on 1.13 i cannot see a new one on the Elektron website

what do you meanby that ?
this is an unofficial firmware i cannot link here search on youtube

low headroom means that the Model Cycles is designed with a tight internal headroom margin

When multiple tracks push against the headroom limit, it acts like a natural, aggressive master compressor, effectively “gluing” your full drum and synth patterns together with a gritty, lo-fi FM character

The overall effect is very creative

ah an un official firmware wow - i did not know that, very cool. will look into it

There’s been quite a rush on them over the last few weeks. All of the bigger UK stores have sold out and saw Thomann had sold out too. Did see one left in a French store yesterday.

Always my favourite Elektron device of those I’ve owned. Interesting developments of late certainly appear to have had a positive impact in terms of clearing stock.

It was going to be one of my next purchases; :disappointed_relieved: I’ve owned a Model:Samples for years and absolutely love it—for me, it’s the best gear for making IDM :heart_eyes:and glitch music. Friends who bought this one tell me the FM synths are fantastic… it’s a shame, but I’ll be heading in a different direction now.

I’ve read about this whole “F.” situation, but I don’t think Elektron should let it discourage them—they should just keep improving the machine even further. After all, history shows us that this sort of thing has always happened; just look at the TB-303 “Devil Fish”—how did that come about? The history of musical instruments is full of stories like this. Keep your chin up, Elektron—don’t give up! :muscle:

Little tip for those seeking the MC sound. I’ve found that DN into Live 12’s Roar plugin gives me a very similar sound. Roar is alive and breathing in a way that a lot of saturation plugins are not.

The reason it has sold out is because the CFWs, like acid machine, sample machines, braids type machine etc etc. has renewed interest in it.

In german stores today stock vanished. Some don’t even list it anymore and there is a single item at +30EUR of it’s price yesterday listed. Very strange that stock and listings vanish seemingly everywhere.

Lucky me to have ordered one two days ago … the new firmware makes it very interesting, never thought of buying an Elektron device before.

EDIT: looks like Model:Samples is running dry, too.

yep you can flash the model cycle firmware to the model samples now and add the mods to it as well. i think there is a run on both now.
