Model Cycles + MPC volume issue

Hey.

I’m sequencing the Cycles from an MPC One and I don’t know why. When it send a Program Change it sets all the Cycles tracks volumes at 127.

If I disable receiving CC from the Cycles , of course this is not happening, but then other modulations are stopped…

Any ideas?
Thanks!

With elektron gear program change usually equals pattern change. A new pattern will start with the default volume level. Is the cycles default volume in a new pattern 127? Digi devices start at like 100, I think. Can you watch for a change in pattern when this happens? I don’t have a cycles to confirm but I know that if you send program change from an external sequencer to most elektron gear, that a pattern change is the result.

Your patch remains correct during all of this?

MPC has the program change channel (normally set to off) in the program window of the main screen and when you engage it, you have to choose program change channel, and then it has the MSB and the LSB. Can you tell me specifically what you’re sending from there, and did you check the program change receive channel set on the cycles matches that of the MPC?

Is it only being sent when you change sequences or are you trying to manually send the PC?

I’ll have to look at the cycles manual but when sending from a non-elektron sequencer to an elektron device I believe that the paradigm is that MIDI program change messages 0–127 will select pattern 1–128 (A01–H16)

I think I got it.

Sorry. The levels are not set to 127 by default, and after adjusting them, I saved the pattern to the Cycles, and it can be recall with the right levels…

At the end, I fixed it adjusting the MIDI Filter CC 7 on the MPC to don’t be send, so this looks like it works for now

This behaviour do not happens on my Syntakt, so it’s strange…

Thank you for your answer. Appreciate your time!!

Sure, no problem. Glad you found a solution.
