I’ve just downloaded all 500 and immediately dragged them into the trash.
Very satisfying.
I have no clue what this is all about (will google Nathalie Portman Moby in a second), but that’s the only thing that rang a bell.
Googled. Ugh.
How many terrabytes of multitrack wavs was it?
yes, offtop by me. Just stuck in a brain for years
I liked this one …
the last track I noticed from him was “Feeling So Real”, but briefly after I unplugged myself from anything commercial (TV, Radio, …) anyway.
The better thread is always a click away … I miss the 90ties and Gabber - #296 by Moonwax
sweating guy meme picking between a button with a t-bone steak and a button with moby’s face on it
i like any artist who adds a “and by the way fuck you” addendum to anything
Where’s the “Download All” button?
Looks like you have to download 1 at a time. It’s like 1995 all over again on the web
he likes animals and money and making up creepy stories about Natalie Portman, I think he’s mostly leftist in the “people on the internet getting mad at vegans” sense, less so Chumbawumba.
Since Moby’s been completely uninteresting for ages now I’m gonna cite some industrial hip hop-
As in speech not as in beer?
Left wing doesn’t suggest he is against capitalism, that’s a strangely reductive suggestion.
Besides even if he were against capitalism, he lives in a capitalist society. Reminds me of:
hell if you’re going to go with annoying things about Moby, this movie was awful- Suck (2009) - IMDb
Well the vampires didnt look like vegans to me?
Ok, finally checked the list and read the description, now it makes more sense, all tracks are rather instrumentals that not appear on albums (for a moment I hoped for a multitrack of Thousand or E)… Fair enough
the joke is that he’s a big scary satanic metal guy who covers himself in blooooooodddd
honestly it was fine, beyond the movie not being good in aggregate
It’s a well known sample in the classic house/old Skool scene. As used by Nipper (a cult dj in his own right) as Kid Unknown on Warp in 1992.
Interesting idea to put a bunch of stuff out for other’s to use (‘terms and conditions’ notwithstanding).
I got burned out on Moby very, very early. I ‘sort of’ listened to ‘Everything is wrong’ a little but had since moved on.
I do remember a year or so later going to a wonderfully massive show in Atlanta which Moby ‘headlined’ though the time of his performance wasn’t Atlanta headlining-hour at the time, and SO many other groups were there that were so much better: 808 State, Banco de Gaia (who in every way stole the show completely), Eat Static and a few others… I was much more into them than Moby.
Strange energy shift when he came out. He had his little minions that follow him around giving out pamphlets of this or that political/social thing he was in to. They were walking through the crowd and it felt very forced while he was on stage yelling ‘feel the love; feel the love’ and I was feeling the opposite of that.
Thankfully, it stopped right after and went back to the ‘feel the love’ vibe that had been there before.
Got to meet Eat Static putting away equipment. THAT was very, very cool.
Mood-wise, he was simply really out-of-place. ‘Big top tour’ – I’d forgotten who all was there: the above + BT, LTJ Bukem, Loop Guru, Grooverider, System 7…
He had a top 10 house track with Anfisa Letyago not that long ago, and I really like his older stuff GO era, but i would agree a lot of beige in the middle…
Okay now, if Ice-T released 500 songs I could use for free? I’d absolutely get with that, with the stipulation that I couldn’t use them for any pro-police music, of course.
