Miserable git's general and non-specific (but very inclusive) whingeing thread - If you've got thoughts about stuff, I'm your guy (Part 1)

You have been reprogrammed by the cats is the only answer, and their mind wipe wore off early; that’s all you need to know.

Now just look into this brightly spinning disc for a moment, would you?

if i ran the marketplace on here, people wouldn’t be able to post gear for anything more than 60% of MSRP. this aint reverb folks

Doorway effect. Literally walking through a doorway or other threshhold makes you more likely to forget

The solution of course is to leave your bedroom or living room as little as possible

or make the house one big room. no leaving a room. downside, cats are always in your room.
but i get that too all the time. i was studying to several exams and then i asked myself where is my glass i just had. i had no recollection. looked everywhere. i had washed and dried it and put it in the cupboard instead of refilling it, but had zero recollection of this.
but i did pass an exam

Cats good, Kids bad!

If I ran the marketplace on here you wouldn’t be allowed to edit a post after the sale, so that the site could also serve as a resource for secondary market gear price changes across time and region.

A few years ago, I met a couple people that lived outside, and we chat for several hours.
First words the guy told me when I came close to him was “what the hell are you doing in my bedroom?”

We were awaken by the water jet of a roundabout around 6am.
Epic night.

Is this what life in the Hawaiian sea breezes does to instruments! :scream:

Bought an SD card for the new MPC. Wasn’t paying attention, bought a regular SD card instead of a Micro SD card. Also learned that goddamn fucking AI has obliterated the SD card supply and prices are through the fucking roof.

Anything not in use I have completely sealed in Saran Wrap with with a buttload of scillica packets. Enclosure screws (even black anodized ones) and hex nuts (like that hold pots and audio jacks) are the 1st to oxidize and corrode. I’m constantly replacing that stuff when I have to sell gear.

I bought an open box Mustang bass from Amazon, the nut and washer on it was corroded bad. It’s must have sat in a dank warehouse for a while!

when i was in hawaii i wasnt thinking and brought my decksaver covered op-xy from inside the AC’d house to the super humid front porch and the inside of the decksaver immediately fogged up and i was nervous i had just introduced a ton of condensation into the insides. thankfully it was all gravy but dealing with that daily sounds like a risky road

I can’t wait for hot humid weather! Summer, LFG!

why people who don’t give a fuck needs to mock those who do ?

Because they’re small.

We’re not talking car size again, are we? I’m very insecure!

So, serious question- is this something I need to worry about, being close to the ocean and having no AC (and therefore having windows open constantly)? It’s been on the back of my mind since moving and I don’t know if it’s worth stressing about.

What a relief! Condensation is terrible for electronics. Gravy on the other hand is both harmless and delicious.
