Can anyone explain why my OT has suddenly quit playing MIDI notes with accuracy? I’ve input notes using Keystep and the OT’s numeric pads. The result is the same, incorrect pitch or missing. This is consistent regardless of MIDI channels and different synths. Thanks

Quantize recording ?
Stuck note ? Same behavior after reboot ?
Same with a new bank ? (New part)
New project ?
OT limitations :
4 notes per trig
quantized notes are recorded on next step, not closest as on newer Elektrons
No overdub

Also scale quantize (probable), transpose…
That’s why test has to be done from a fresh part / bank (eventually project, but apart from quantize rec I am not sure there a Personnalize setting implying implying these isssues)

This has been happening to me (wrong midi notes on playback) and I’ve a strong feeling that this is the culprit or something arp page related. Will check it out when I’m home

Oh… I’ll check that. It’s weird as a recorded a bass line with no issues at all. Then this happens.
Possible that you played a different scale.
Concerning missing notes, it can be related to OT step sequencer limitations…
That’s highly unlikely. It has 7 or 8 notes tops.
That is to say ? (I am french and don’t understand that…)
It means that the sequence in question contains a maximum number of 7 or 8 notes (tops used as a word to indicate that 7 or 8 is the highest possible number).
What this is supposed to imply may be that there is a low probability of input error, but on a personal level I find that to be not always the case.
Perhaps you want to clarify what you mean by limitations of the OT step sequencer because I believe that there’s some further misunderstanding occurring here as to what limitations you’re referencing.

4 notes max per step with all same length
No overlap
Quantize to next step and not closest : with +1/384 late, it goes to next step.
Depending on the way you play you can have missing notes…

The pattern isn’t busy or exceeding the maximum for any single step.
I’ve rebooted, tried a new pattern etc.
Maybe it’s an auto-quantise problem? I’m not aware of switching anything on like that, but it is an OT…
Is there a menu or option somewhere to check for this ?
Personal Settings/Quantise Live Rec is unchecked.

You need to change to a fresh pattern with a fresh part, otherwise wrong settings are the same (midi settings are per part).
Simpler / faster is to change to a fresh bank…
Rec Quantize (Personnalize) is the only option afaik.

Mysteriously it has started to behave after some time out. I’ve yet to reload ‘that’ project, but will try later when I’ve the time.
I can only think the OT may’ve been upset when I auditioned a batch of samples, one being 22khz. That never made it into the project naturally. Thanks for your help. G
