Hi guys. I’m appealing to all of your minds as mine is getting slightly broken over this…
I am sending midi through usb (clock) to my RYTM from Ableton and then midi to DIGITAKT. Audio from both machines are routed back into my sound card and mixed in Ableton. I also have midi coming out the DIGITAKT to an Arturia Drumbrute. But, the Drumbrute audio is going out into an external analog mixer. Because of latency of my soundcard, the drum brute is slightly out of time. Is there a way you guys can think of, of adjusting the midi timing to make the Drumbrute stay in time with the rest/sync?
Any help?
Cheers.
Maybe look at MIDI sync delay in Ableton.:
Yeah that was my first port of call. Those settings are already set up so that my ableton set syncs with the RYTM. It all works perfectly. But because of the audio lag compensation these settings create the Drumbrute is out of time. While the midi is perfect, the audio is delayed since the RYTM and DIGI and going through the sound card. If I could some how delay the start of the Drumbrute to the same timing as my sound cards audio latency, I would be on to a winner.
Oh I see, so you heard the Drumbute directly (via the mixer) but due to the soundcard latency, the 2 are of course out of time.
Is Ableton sending midi to the Drumbrute? Not sure you could use the “track delay” feature in this case
The chain is, Ableton/(USBtoRYTM)/miditoDIGImiditoDrumBrute. If I could somehow stagger the midi clock from the DIGITAKT going into the DrumBrute…
