So like others music theory isn’t my strong suit. Luckily there are tools that make it easier for us illeterates.
On the hunt I found some nice solutions and wonder if there are any controllers or solutions I’ve missed.
Korg nanokey studio, it has key/scale and chord modes
Launchpad Pro, also has key/scale and chord modes but isn’t a keyboard
The iOS app Navichord can lock a scale/key to the white keys and on some keyboards much more. The Keith McMillen K-Board for example .
Komplete Kontrol (not sure if this works on external midi stuff and stand-alone).
The cheapest route is using Navichord and the most convenient seems to be the the Korg.
As Kordbot and TheoryBoard are hard to get and are mostly unfinished I left them out.
What other controllers are out there that provide this functionality? I’m sure I’ve forgotten some

Livid Minim does this if you are into wireless and compact.
Did you check out Korg tektile keyboard controller? Looks pretty good, midi in/out, usb, Arp, scales, chords and an editor…

This one looks promising, nice feature set and the touchpad can even be used as mouse. That will come in handy for sure

Bump!
I’m opting to get a keystep or a launchkey 3…
Both have chord mode.

I’ve been using the Keystep 37 for a while now, great device at a good price. I don’t like the keys that much however… So if anyone has a chord mode / scale mode midi keyboard (bonus if it also has a few pads) with better keys, lmk!
