Midi control of Trinity (A4/OT/MD) &

Hello,

I’m looking for a programmable midi controller (like bitstream 3x) which can control my 3 machines (MD, OT, A4) but also pitch the MD as a Minicommand.

Does this kind of gear exist ?

Thank you

???

I was using a Behringer BCR2000, but just recently switched to Lemur (iPad).

hi, why you don’t control the other 2 devices with the octatrack, is that not the same? i’m sorry but the perfect midi setting is still a mystery for me  i wonder what’s the correct way to set the midi channels on the trinity. actally i got 1 - 5 for the mnm, 6 - 11 for the ot, 12 - 15 on the md and 16 i use for prg change.

i don’t use the midi sequencer on the ot, so i brought only one channel for the ot is that correct, or should i reserve 9 channels for the ot only? i’m sorry for the stupid question but no one ever explained to me how midi works. the only thing i allweys knew is that i need to play some techno music… but the correct midi channel setting is still a mystery… and in the english manual is not my best friend.

Thanks for the replies.

I think my question was not very clear.

I know there are many ways to controls these machine via midi but I would like to find a controler (3X style with X/Y pad, sliders, etc…) which has the capacity to do “smart things” like the MidiCommand which pitches the MD.

I am about to be in a similar boat. I should be picking up a MnM on saturday to join my OT, tetra and shruthi and I like to play my synth parts on keys so I am wondering how I will link everything. I was also thinking of getting a bass station 2 as midi controller (i only need the keys and pitch and modulation). Really not quite sure how to hook it all up.

Anybody got keys controlling more than one box or am I going to have to use the midi tracks in the OT for my outboard AND the MnM tracks? also midi feedback from the bass station would be an issue right?

My plan is the have it run like this …

BS2 midi out to OT
OT midi out to MnM
MnM midi thru to Tetra
Tetra Midi Thru to Shruthi
Shruthi Midi thru to BS2

Will I be able to control the MnM tracks with the BS2 and am I likely to get feed back if the BS2 is on the end of the midi chain?

I’ve just picked up a Zero SL II. I’m still trying to work out what will work best for me. I might use the sliders and buttons on the right for OT track volume/solo/mute.
The controls on the other side will probably go to the other 3 boxes.

I also just got a MIDI CPU so I can build a custom midi controller. I wasn’t intending to get the Zero (but it came up at a very good price) so now I have to work out what to use that for too.

It is a shame the OT is the only one that has track solo and the A4 doesn’t even have track mute.

Double post

Let us know when you have it all rigged up.

I am definitely picking up the BS2 in December now so I am hoping its all gonna work out and I can lose my Axiom 49. Theres nothing wrong with it I just don’t use any of the faders or encoders.

Will do. The Zero Sl should get set up soon - I just need to extend a shelf for it to sit on.

The MIDI CPU will be a while, I still need to decide what to do with it now I have the Zero. And then I have to try and make whatever I come up with.

Got the Zero connected up to the OT now. Sliders controlling volumes, and the 16 buttons below for easy mutes and solos.

When I next get a chance I will try and work out how I want the controls on the left to interact with the other 3 Elektrons.

Pleased with what I have so far.
