Midi Clock/sync OT + Monomachine

Hi,

I guess this question was asked before.
I am pretty sure others may have observed the same …
I searched the forum, but could not find it. So this is my simple question:
Connecting OT and Monomachine: OT sending clock midi out, MM receiving clock midi in. In this situation the tempo of the MM goes up and down 0.2 all the time (e.g. 92 - 92.2 - 91.8), even if there are no tempo changes on the OT.
Is this normal behavior?

I was thinking if this might lead to timing problems between the 2 machines. Or do you think, that this small tempo variation can be just ignored?

Yes, it is normal behaviour.

Have you noticed any timing problems so far?

Thanks PeterHanes,

I figured it out. I just read the monomachine manual again. There it is made clear (page 56):

When in external MIDI clock synchronisation mode the Monomachine will stay in sync with an external MIDI clock if present. […] The tempo displayed in the tempo screen is only an average calculation. Even though it might appear to vary the Monomachine is tightly locked to each MIDI clock signal received.

So everything is fine since I have acutally not noticed any timing problems!
Happy! Happy!
Now I will go on exploring more sound territories.
I own both machines for more than three years. But still experimenting how to combine both to get most of it.
The next thing I will explore is to use the Monomachine to control additional parameters on the OT - to get even more LFO action on the OT.
3 LFOs are just not enough on the OT, especially for extended automated control of the Playback & AMP parameters.
It is great how much sound potential the OT offers with samples!
