I’m getting midi clock sent out of MIDI OUT (Sync A) just fine
No matter what i’ve tried, I cannot get any clock sending out from midi THRU (Sync B)
Is it possible to have midi clock being sent simultaneously from both outputs to start 2 other machines?
Thanks for your time!
My settings:
MIDI SYNC - clock send - YES
MIDI PORT CONFIG -
out port func midi
thru port func midi
input from midi+usb
output to midi+usb
output channel auto channel

Don’t have a DT but if midi is like any other machine MIDI out is different to midi thru.
Midi thru just echoes the midi it receives at the midi input.
You will probably need to send midi to the first machine via midi in, then onto the next machines midi in via the midi thru port of this machine

Thanks for the super quick reply!
Much appreciated!

Just daisy chain them one after the other.
Midi Out > Midi IN > Midi Out /midi thru > Midi IN
Make sure your settings for sending and receiving midi clock and midi transport are set correctly for each device for these to get passed through the chain.
As psyclone says midi thru just echoes the midi in port.
Can I resurrect this old thread to ask a similar question?
I have a keyboard, a Digitakt and a MM2. I want to use the Digitakt as my clock as its running a sequence and I want the MM2 arp to be in sync and want to play the MM2 from the keyboard.
I have the keyboard connected to the MIDI IN on the DT and connected the MIDI THRU from the DT to the MIDI IN on the MM2 to pass through the keyboard data. I don’t think the MM2 is receiving clock info from the DT.
Does the THRU only pass through stuff from the MIDI IN (so no clock data)?
I guess the OUT is no use as it won’t pass through the keyboard data.
Is the only option to make the keyboard the clock so it gets routed to the DT MIDI THRU and therefore clocks the DT and the MM2?
I’m reading all the manuals but can’t find specifics on the clock.
Midi is fun
Connect the midi out from the DT to the mm2. Use a dt midi track and set the keyboard (midi in) to the same channel as DT’s autochannel or 9. Engage midi output on SRC with the desired channel the mm2 is listening to.
Now you can play DT internal tracks with the keyboard and as soon as you hit the miditrack it passes the notes thru MM2 from keyboard.
Midi clock from DT gets send (if you checked the midi out clock in settings)

Cheers @tubefund…I’m not quite getting it though
Slap me up with some more learning.
So I’ve connected the DT MIDI OUT to the MM2.
I’ve currently got the keyboard sending on MIDI CH1 and the MM2 set up to listen to MIDI CH1.
The DT’s auto channel is set to CH10 (I’m off to read what this is and how it works). I’ve currently set TRACK 1 - 9 CHANNEL to OFF and TRACK A CHANNEL to 1. This clearly isn’t right. There was a step in your instructions referencing ‘midi output on SCR’ which I didn’t understand.
Any further guidance gratefully received…
Ahhhhhh, SCR was a typo of SRC (Source)…that’s the step I missed.
Thanks…I found the same guide here for others following after me too…

Yeah, an option to send clock out on Thru would be very nice for sure, worth noting that if you’re doing MIDI loopback on DT the Thru works like midi out and provides clock etc

Yes, all working as I was hoping for.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
