Micromonsta 2

I think it would be great if Alt button would be incorporated into the workflow more - it’s awesome how you can use it to adjust OSC volume without switching to the mixer page.

One additional way to include it more would be in the Env menu. For example, when you are in Env3 view, alt would make third encoder select the envelope’s destination, while the fourth one would increase modulation amount. The same could be applied to LFO’s, making it faster and easier to set up modulations.

Here’s a little sketch I made, Digitakt doing the kicks, hats and snares, MM2 patch A : FM Keys patch B : Plucks.

After filling up 300 preset slots, dialing in a sequence then flipping through the presets becomes so rewarding !

I don’t know if this has been mentioned yet, but the default midi CC values on the AMP page are spot on with the MM2, I rarely have to edit them.

this 4 chords arpeggio should really become a track, this is beautiful

Thanks for the kind words my dude I really appreciate it ! I will post the finished track if it doesn’t get burried somewhere in my projects / patterns.

Would love to hear more of the Monsta paired with your setups, so far every demo has been great tbh.

My most disappointing purchase of the year. It taught me not to buy things with a lot of Menu diving. I havent he patience to do mod matrix stuff on a screen. It requires mojo i dont have.

In this jam you can hear it as the main pads (from track start to end), and bassline (other sounds come from Deluge).

Not the most evolving and weird example of MM2 I think, as I tried to create tamed and “conventional” sounds

I find that it just gets better and better, but can’t imagine using it without the majority of its features mapped to the Faderfox EC4.

I really enjoyed building patches tbh, everything is straightforward and I’ve never been lost in the menu pages or anything like that.

I totally understand why having an external knob / encoder controller could be very useful for both building and playing patches live, especially in bi-timbral mode, but it isn’t necessary at all.

I rarely even bother mapping all the CCs on the Digitakt, not to mention you can map any parameter to any knob or encoder on the synth itself which is very powerful if you ask me.

Something like the Faderfox or the good old stereoping controllers would be amazing for live performance though, I might go DIY and make a full-fledged MM2 synth panel / external box for live tweaking.

Absolutely, same for me. Been a while since I set up patches but I found it very easy to use because of the way the UI keeps context … if you were using OSC 3 and go to the LFO, hitting OSC will take you straight back to OSC 3 … very neatly done. Particularly in contrast to the Mopho (desktop) which despite having double the parameter knobs is a nightmare to program without an editor.

Totally agree, especially when the product in question is originally at a very nice price.

The Elektronaut I got mine from sold it at the original price in essentially mint condition, Carambars included, which was very nice of them.

The most annoying thing is that people who sell more expensive make more profit unlike the nice man who creates, builds and takes all the risks.

It’s a divisive topic for sure, things are worth as much as someone’s willing to pay I guess, I’ve sold nearly all the kit I got rid of at a loss but sometimes you make a little and that’s fine in my book, I’m totally against gouging though, maybe 50 on top cos of scarcity but double the price is taking the piss…

Here’s an oldish jam I just found and uploaded, a lot of Micro Monsta 2 action from 2:00 minutes onwards. It’s a great synth for jamming with

The circuit tracks looks like it might be the ideal partner for the MM2. Intuitive sequencer with scales / chord mode, 2 midi channels with 8 customizable CC encoders (with motion recording?), 2 mono / 1 stereo audio input. Plus some drums / samples.

Also thinking about this.

Is the sound engine on the circuit tracks well regarded? Back in the day the supernova was one of the most highly regarded VAs and on the circuit you get two of them?!

(Possibly the wrong thread to ask this :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

Finally got mine <3
Love the interface, you get used to it fairly quickly imho.
Also, it is indeed incredibly small, but feels great.
Just to make sure: there’s no way to filter presets by category, right?

Regarding feature requests, there’s not much I can think of but, as mentioned before, the NO/YES buttons could be helpful in some other scenarios (ie. hold NO and turning a knob to reset a parameter to it’s default value).
Also: maybe some HPF delay variants (currently only LP)
And there were some modulation sources I couldn’t find that was hoping for, can’t remember what they were right now.
Here’s a quick sketch I did recently while testing it out, MM2 + Digitakt - lovely duet!

Pretty sure that’s right unless there’s a firmware update I missed. I’m sure it’s been talked about here before.

Probably mentioned before in the 1000+ posts, but I think being able to set the midi channel independently rather than channel+1 when in bi-timbral mode would be helpful.
