Micro tuning on the Minilogue (XD)

Scratching my head because of the microtuning settings on a Minilogue XD.

The first couple of micro tuning presets (like “Pythagorean” or “Werckmeister”) do not give me an audible difference when switching from Equal Temp to one of those while I have a sequence running.

I am a total n00b regarding micro tuning, so maybe I am doing something completely stupid. I notice a change in tuning from Slendro and on. Any expert 'Nauts here?

Werckmeister is very close to equal temperament.

You should hear some differences in Pythagorean compared to equal temperament for some intervals: have a close listen to each interval in turn in comparison to equal temperament.

Major third should be a biggie I think ? I can never tune a guitar by ear so that major thirds sound right, and I’ve always blamed that on my ears wanting to hear harmonics being aligned, (Pythagorean) versus guitars being designed for equal temperament.

EDIT: Ooops … just discovered (on reading more about pythagorean major thirds) that what I was rabbiting on about has zero to do with pythagorean tuning.

Try major thirds in F#, Db, and Ab - those should be the most “off” compared to equal temperament major 3rds.

Check out the section on Werckmeister and the table in there
