Mic to L audio input to get a vocoder sound

Hi there! this is my first post.

I’m asking if it is possible to let the A4 (MKi) sound like a vocoder (to be clear: a sound like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaYgMdq6NDg).

I’m sending the microphone input in L, setting OSC1 to get this input as source of sound, but I’m not able to manage the AM, nor to replicate the input on different keys. I’m thinking the A4 is simply not capable of tracking the oscillation from input L, but before giving up, I would like to ask.

Thanks!

don’t think so

it’s definitely not trying to, nor ever likely

A vocoder modulates band filters depending on incoming signal, AFAIK. So I don’t think it’s possible either.
You can try formant frequencies to mimic it maybe ?

I’m thinking about filtering with high resonance (maybe BPF) the voice with an high value of tracking. Let’s say, only using the keyboard to select the cutoff frequency. With polyphony and warm FM it could work.
If something cool comes out I will get back

Thank you all!
