I have recently played around with GeoShred for iOS, a midi controlling software where the notes are structured in a grid, and which allows you to do both glissandos and some pretty sweet shredding in general. So, when creating a soundtrack for a short story about how the Syrian conflict accidentally turned into a interstellar conflict (you can read that story here if you’re interested), I used GeoShred in conjunction with Analog Four and Octatrack and I’m quite happy with the outcome.
