Thinking of replacing my Pro 2 with this. Anyone made a similar move? Could do with freeing up some space. I primarily use the Pro 2 for bass duties, but rarely use the sequencer.
Youāre gonna love it. The Implexus sounds (and looks) so amazing.

- Sequenced by OXI one MK2, connected with balanced cables to Jellymix, effects from Eventide h90 on Jellymix auxes.
- Iām not sampling as what I prefer with the Implexus is how motifs and textures can involve in real time.
- Not really but it takes the place of a 0-coast or a Cascadia and it will stay for sure.
- Definitely, but I tend to play a lot with tilt EQ and filters on the Jellymix to give space to all devices, so not really an issue for me.
I waited before answering to be sure I was not hallucinating or that it was just honeymoon effect. I LOVE THAT THING!
I was considering the Implexus since the first demos, but was finding it extremely pricey and was not fully convinced with what I was hearing. And at the end I couldnāt be happier. I was always fascinated by the sound coming from modulars but never had the energy or patience to build my own. The Implexus is like a shortcut to my modular fantasy. The UX is close to perfect, so I understand what Iām doing, but Iām always surprised by how it ends and how the basic and complex āgeneratorsā are interacting through the filter.

You may be familiar with Bill Drummond stories about the ā17 choirā from the engine of his Land Rover. Well, the Implexus is talking to me like that since I bought it and it is a real āinspiration engineā so far (Despite I donāt have his genius 
).

After a night with it, here is my read (as a Pro 3 user):
- Itās rich, warm and has incredible tone and an overall sound to it.
- It has pretty good range and the compact form factor makes it an easy sell.
- Knob per function means every notch gets you somewhere.
- While the filter isnāt the star, itās not meant to be. The complex oscillator is. Dave Mechās review really highlights this. But it may take some getting used to.
- If you want to recall patches, of course, you will obviously miss that. I personally love collecting them as jump off points.
- Itās not a work horse synth. Which brings me to a pretty stark comparison with my current monosynth.
- Modulation capabilities and the matrix on the Pro 3 is maybe one of the best Iāve ever come across. You might miss that as well if the Pro 2 has a similar implementation.
- It will need effects if you hope to get within what a Pro 3 can do out of the box. That may mean routing changes or additional gear. That may or may not be desirable.
- And to some of whatās already been said, for the price point, you can come up on a lot of different para-phonic or mono-synths for a lot less. Iām seeing lots of Pro 3s and other synths in its category go for a lot less on the resell market.
- For what I was considering it for, I canāt say it will replace anything in my set up. As a Pro 2 owner, it may not necessarily live up to how that particular instrument is integrated yours. Thatās of course, if substantially less is more.

Many thanks for your insights, Iāve been travelling all day so havenāt had time to digest it all yet. The matrices on Pro 2 and 3 are very similar, yes. I think ultimately price will be the deciding factor, Iāve just replaced my interface and have decided on a new layout for my studio which means the pro 2 definitely has to go, so Iāll se how funds are looking once I get it sold and take it from there.
Anyone know if a sample pack made with Implexus?
