I just acquired a Machinedrum UW+.
I’ve had another UW (non-plus) one and the screen refreshrate of my newer UW+ seems a bit slower. Has anyone had this problem before? I’m wondering why it refreshes at a slower rate. Battery seems to be fine, not that I think it would impact this.
I’m going to look at replacing my screen to a black/white one, but thought I’d ask here for first and see if anyone has experienced this.
Yeah my MK1 ghosts a noticeable bit more than my MK2. Can’t really comment on something this specific without a video but it’s probably just manufacturing differences & different revisions of the LCDs
Both of mine are MKII. The MKII UW is manufactured 2008 and has a faster refresh rate than the MKII UW+ manufactured in 2010 oddly enough.
Yeah if it doesn’t affect usability you likely just got unlucky with parts. I doubt Elektron was too concerned about LCD ghosting & refresh rate for a musical instrument. Winstar probably make several revisions of the screen over the years. Curious though by refresh rate, do you just mean ghosting of pixels or actual refresh rate (30fps vs 120fps)? I’d be suprised if elektron ever made boxes with different actual panel refresh rates. A slowmo video taken with a high speed phone camera may help clear up what you’re seeing
For sure, it’s fine and yes, I mean ghosting instead of refresh rate to be clear.
