What are other differences between MCL and the actual X.20 Firmware? As i understand, only differences are the structure of kits/patterns, UI scheme, a bit of workflow and performance things on the MCL?

Btw, i thought all the additional features of the MCL needed the Arduinio to be calculated on the MCL, as the MD is limited in power. X.20 proves it can all calculated on the MD itself. I guess the code optimizing, memory allocations are mostly ai performance driven and made this possible.

I’m more then happy, that after 20 Years of using Machinedrum, those features (Sequencer features, more sound engines, 2 LFO, ENV) are available :-)))

Wishes:
A feature i really like to see are Direct Start Pattern change mode. I think, this will be also possible to come?

Keyboard mode to play and record into MD’s sequencer

You mean Direct Jump? That would be a dream come true.

Small Feature Requests regarding Trig Conditions and especially probability :
ā€œTrig/Lockā€ mode where the probability is evaluated separately for trig and lock.

Any MK1 UW users here that have tried the update?

Yes, works fine, tried the usr machines, it’s a blast.

Cool! On my Mk1 UW X.20 crashes constantly, strangely enough.

just wow @JustinValer

quick question before I update to x20 ]

I have a third party plusdrive(machinestore) installed on MD MKI
Will this update work?

just did it seems to work!

Do any of the tracks support chromatic mode?

The MD triggers as single notes and can’t be chromatic since the thing runs on one channel, but I am curious to know if, for example, one can trigger the new machines using a midi keyboard set to a specific channel.

this is just insane… great appreciation!
A question - how to activate fill mode ?

Got it - while in MUTE menu, press ā€œSCALEā€. ā€œYESā€ will activate/deactivate.

Where do we adress bugs and hiccups for X.20 besides the github?

I have found some reproduceable ones but need some time tonight to document them.

There is a channel for reporting #bugs on the MDX Discord. Cheers.

No need to be in the Mute menu to activate Fill Mode:

From the main screen during playback, with no trig held:

  • Hold [UP] + [SCALE] for momentary fill.
  • Press [DOWN] + [SCALE] to queue fill for the next pattern cycle.
  • Press [UP] + [DOWN] + [SCALE] to latch fill on.
  • Press [UP] + [SCALE] again to unlatch.
