Machine Drum controlled by Korg SQ1

Hi all,

I was playing with a little sequence with the following Midi setup:
Korg SQ1-> Waldorf synth-> midi through to Machine Drum.

All i want it to have the MD sync’ed to the Korg’s tempo.

So that works fine except that when the step reaches the 5th step on bank B on the SQ1, it changes the program on the MD! I went to global menu and set program changes to off but it still odes it…

Any idea?

And after a bit of experimentation, it seems its only when the SQ1 send notes beyond a certain range, i.e if i lower the note on step 4 (not step 5 as stated above) of bank B, it no longer triggers the change of pattern. But above a certain level, it sends a program change… the higher the note, the higher the pattern number…

You can set the Program Change mode to Off. I’ve done something similar with miy SQ1…synced them by sending a pulse (from one MD output) to the Sync IN of your SQ1. On “pulse” track from the MD I trigger the pulse I O I O I O

In this case, SQ1 will be sync’ed to MD tempo…
