Ever since her debut on Livity Sound, the debate on how the Surgeons Girl moniker came to be has been quietly contested by the community, and Sinead spills the truth behind her name. ā€œEveryone thinks it’s got something to do with Surgeon, but it’s actually a painfully boring story. I was looking through the Wire’s song track list, and there was one track called Surgeon’s Girl.ā€ She continues by outlining a past creative endeavour whereby she created visuals and uploaded them to a YouTube account of the same name, ā€œSo I’ve sort of been Surgeons Girl from the beginning.ā€

I have never wanted a tote so badly. I would LOVE to have one of these.

Apparently Torso Electronics bailed on the event, as per their discord. I guess whatever they were going to show wasn’t ready yet.

A little weird they wouldn’t have just used the event to talk more about the T1, but I guess maybe it was a big endeavor or something for not releasing a product?

Do you recall who was selling or distributing the tote bag?

It was produced for the event by Elevator Sounds in Bristol, you might try to contact them to see if any remain…fingers crossed!

I will do so! Thanks for the info.

edit: They’ve got ā€œdon’t talk to meā€¦ā€ t-shirts! :open_mouth:

Lars fromTorso stated in discord they didn’t make MB.
So you didn’t miss them.

I’m supacurious what this new device is.

That’s a relief, shame for those looking forward to seeing them!

I’d like to see a sequencer like the T-1 on an actual drum machine/synth. Standalone hardware sequencers are rad but there’s always a disconnect for me.

I will say im a full on sequencer junkie.
The T-1 has been unlike anything i’ve ever used in a hardware sequencer.
(it all gets rendered to a DAW anyway both the midi file and the audio…i never keep anything permanently in a hardware sequencer. thats just madness in the 21st century)

Haha me neither, I’m far too flighty with my setup for that kind of nonsense.

Watched this video and i am happy to see that the Gliss from Bela is so useful, with a variety of ways it can be used. I think if it is quite clever, like scaling and clipping an incoming LFO signal with two fingers. I think i’d pick up the configuration of it quite quickly and remember it, so could reconfigure it quickly. This seems valuable and useful enough to have several of these in a rack.

I also posted a video Gaz did on the WoFi from Kiviak over in that thread. Kickstarter on the way soon for that.

As shows are always good for, you get small hints at future products that companies are working on. As with all future products, no guaranty.

So for instance Knobula is working on a dedicated effects unit, with at least their reverbs. Video queued :
