I don’t know about AUM, I’ve heard of it but not used it. But there are options to route audio via USB. I’ve done this successfully to Ableton, and also to Koala on IOS. There’s a few options, which I haven’t fully grasped yet, but I know I have had the option to send one track or the mix as a whole. I’ve used it recently for resampling in M8 through various VST FX. It’s showcased in the Firmware 6.0 announcement video from Dirtywave. It’s on YouTube.
Thank you!. Good to know. I will check youtube.
I picked up a launchpad pro Mk3 today, I absolutely love this combination with the m8. I didn’t use my M8 as much as I hoped after a workday behind a screen. After initial setup of a song, there is almost no need to look at the m8 screen. I can finally downsize my gear, will be selling my circuits.
Same
There’s plenty cheap on eBay, got this one boxed as new for £170. Plugged in the M8 with two TRS cables and it just worked, zero setup.
Can the M8 do parameter slides?
Yup. REP command will smoothly increment/decrement the previous command (like cutoff), RTO will let you set a value to hold the parameter
Another M8 compilation, this one based around randomness and errors. This jam also coincided with the 6.0 beta and release, and many of us used new things like the ERR and NXT commands and Launchpad Pro control surface changes
For my track, I live-recorded a song using a LPP and a stack of prompts randomly drawn to tell me what parameters to change and when
@Bearcage mixed old sample cds, shuffling beats, and vocal glitches
@nickypy made dreamy atmospheric dnb
@JackiesFridge dropped some catchy instrumental 80s synth-pop
@sasquatchfuzz brought together synth-funk, crunchy guitar-synths, and a bit of acid
@Dustsucker made some heavy IDM with internal midi tricks
And a bunch of the discord M8 community made a mini-megamix of 8-bar clips across a variety of styles and genres

If anyone is looking for information on the controls for the LPP integration (like me!), someone on Discord made this. I really hope this ends up in the manual.
YANDK from the M8 Discord made by Mio-Moto.
“This is You Need A Drum Kit
, a sample compiler focused for the M8 Tracker. The primary purpose is to combine a sound font, a drum kit or sound kit into a single wav
file with the cue points being set for you, easing the process of creating a sliced sample that can be used with devices that support it.”

Anyone else get crackling on the analogue audio out when the MS8 is also connected to USB? I’ve tried a bunch of cables, and plugging into various places.
I also get it - weirdly - when the MIDI is connected to a device that’s USB charging.
It’s not ground loop hum BTW, I’ve battled with that many times to know what that sounds like
