It only works on chromium based browsers. You can use Edge (confirmed working) or Brave browser. I believe there are others available too.
Thanks for that
Useful to know it works with Brave. @Kultschar, Iâve just installed Brave browser on my Mac to view YouTube because it blocks all the adsâŚmaybe worth going that route too. I use Safari for all other browser needs.
last nightâs sketch
Cheers M8 fellows!
Check my newest Track, fully made live with hardware only. Made with TR-8S + SP404 MK2 + TD-3 + M8 + UC4.
In this night i played a 5 hours live set;)
I love the M8 cause there is so much possible live.
Peace
Iâm not 100% sure it will solve your particular issue, but this âtimestretchâ trick with the LFO helps when a drum loop isnât quite right (if the timestamp doesnât work itâs at about 17:48). Really, this whole video is full of neat tips and tricks, I highly recommend it.
Thanks! Will watch
Anybody had any luck using the M8 for live improvisation?
Today I realized that I hadnât really explored the Wavsynth on the M8. At a glance, I thought might be boring, but after playing with it a bit, Iâm loving the percussive chaos it can generate. The mult, warp, size, oscillator, and mirror params are kind of insane.
Hereâs a snippet of my first dance with the Wavsynth:
(some breakbeat slices snuck in there too, but other than that just Wavsynth)
Yeah, WAVSYNTH is awesome fun, can get some amazing sounds with the âWAVâ filter types too.
Throw in some OSC commands in the table for high speed oscillator shape changes.
Does anyone know if you can use headless with a Teensy with the audio board connected?
I was wondering the same.
Not been using my M8 much - got ill on holiday and only just getting over the tiredness - but had a wee play on the train to work this morning.
Coming to this second time around totally reminds me of returning to the Octatrack the 2nd or 3rd time. Like, you sold it for whatever reason including finding it too complicated but now a lot of the button combos and, importantly, the generally flow of things is mostly clicking.
So nothing fancy this morning but I was building up a nice loop using phrase transposing, scales, RNL for a sort of wandering bass line and next thing I know, Iâm nearly missing my stop in Edinburgh.
Again, like I was with the OT, Iâm using like 5% of what this thing can do but having much more fun with it and with a bit more purpose too this time around.
I had thoughts of eventually whittling things down to just one portable device between M8, OP1F and even Ableton Note. Iâll park those thoughts for now and just enjoy these commute sessions.
One question though - whatâs the best way of getting some sample drum chains into this thing? I actually like the GM sample chain
but would love to get some old drum machine chains dropped in for sequencing
You mean a Teensy to which the Teensy audio board is directly connected? As far as I know, this is not supported by the headless version. Same with MIDI. You can expand the Teensy very easily with own MIDI ports, but from a certain headless version this is no longer supported.
This is a pity, but understandable (at least from the developerâs point of view).
I am kind of in the same boat and also had a similar experience with the OT until the third attempt. I have had the M8 for well over a year now but didnât get too far with it initially and forgot to pack it for my holiday back in August.
In hindsight I think learning the button combos was my main barrier and I became a bit impatient. I am away from home at present so this time I made sure I packed the M8 with me and the last few days been productive for my standards, whenever a moment spare I am armed with YouTube and M8 in hand and having great fun!!. I probably should have focused on practicing / nailing copy, paste, clone etc more on the first few attempts instead of aimlessly pratting about. I used to be a hardcore gamer so button combos should be simple but then realised my gaming days were more like 30 years ago lol
Will try to play / learn more with modulation, grooves and poss Tables this week. I usually find 2 or 3 diff YT tutorials on each topic to get a better understanding as some explain things better then others and of course some videos are like 2 to 3 hours long!!
It really is a crazy amazing bit of hardware and Iâm starting to come to the conclusion it could be all I need.
Anything that can add cue marks and concatenate files will work for this. Then all you would need is to set Slice to File in the instrument. A few tools that can make the sample chains:
â @brian3kb 's DigiChain
â Logic
â OctaChainer
â If youâre good with command line, cuecat works nicely
(And you could always render individual hits into a chain manually on M8, if you wanted. Just have to make a chain of patterns and place your hits)
Sold out. If anyone, like me, took too long and thought too much before buying then they now have to wait.
My BRK delivers today. Glad I ordered last week just before they sold out. I didnât expect the regular version to sell out also.
I have found a second-hand DIY M8 Tracker, and it is so powerful!
For now, it has pretty old firmware, but I will update it to the latest one (I hope I wonât break anything :))
I plan to change the cover, paint the surface, or use fancy stickers.
Usually, I use Digitakt and Digitone, but I needed something more portable and petite.
It was very cheap, but it works like the original one. The battery lasts a few hours.
That looks really cool, does it have midi ports? Iâve seen the handheld gaming consoles adapted for headless but nothing as tidy as this
