Low output

Hello,

I bought Syntakt last week.

It worked well initially, but after using it a few times, the sound suddenly dropped to the lowest possible level.
I reset it, and the output sound returned to normal. However, this issue recurs, and I have to reset it every time for the output volume to return to normal.

Is my device broken, or is something else wrong?

Thank you for the help

That’s hardly enough info to give a remote diagnosis I fear.
Try to reproduce the failure and describe exactly what you did when it happens…

After the purchase I used the syntact after a few hours. I did the device and then I had quiet output and then I tried to do the rest and after that the output was great

then I used it again and after a few uses it happened again. Outfit was quiet.

I didn’t do anything I just turned it on and off

Did you change any settings on the Mixer or FX block pages?

What have you connected your Syntakt to? Moght you be connecting the Syntakts balanced outputs to an unbalanced input?

I’m sure I connected correctly. I only used USB to Mark and power and audio output

OK, but audio output to what and using which cables/connectors?

with instrument cable to sound card

That sounds like it’s the right sort of cable, and that hopefully you are not experiencing the problems of mixing balanced/unbalanced signals. That’s a good start.

Yesterday I wanted to work with headphones and then it happened that both came in and thus cable and headphone cable

It would be helpful to provide screenshots, video, or project files if possible. Like mentioned above this could be the result of many things like accidentally doing a CTRL+ALL change on velocity or amp volume. The best course of troubleshooting is to first determine whether it is hardware or device settings. Open a new project, or better yet, open the factory project ‘PRESETS’ and test output on those patterns.

@EX66 try to get some phone video of what happens.
Or at least take pictures of the velocity, the AFX routing, the mixer section when this happens.
Do you have incoming MIDI?
It’s hard to help you with so little information.

:point_up_2: Check the factory patterns when you have issues with low volume to see if it’s your project or the device.

I had an issue that some strange midi sent by logic changed all velocities, that were not specially saved in a trig to 10. As you use USB as audio connection, maybe something similar happened here. I suggest turning off receiving midi over USB to check.

I thank you all for your effort

As I get new equipment, I like to start new projects so that I am not feeling unexpected effects from something I set up in the past. I have learned not to start yanking cables as my first troubleshooting step.

Similar issue here with Logic Pro and USB MIDI on both my Syntakt and Digitakt II. Thought I had inadvertently muted sounds, but velocity is getting turned down on all tracks. Seems to happen randomly upon boot up or when loading a project.

If double press play or the stop button in logic it sends a CC message that make a bug in elektron devices and turn down velocity fully, need tirn off recieve CC in the elektron if use logic
