Is anyone familiar with these consoles?
I love the 500-series modular concept but the schematic leaves me a bit puzzled - it seems it’s impossible to route the line input to the channel faders without first going through the DAW? This seems like a bizarre design choice - every other desk whose signal flow I’ve looked at allows the line inputs to be sent directly to the faders.
The diagram shows a switch at the beginning of the signal path to swap between DAW and mic/line inputs.
Yes but the feint grey line, I believe, indicates the two switches are linked, and shows their defaults are inverted. So when line is selected on the front/left switch, the the fader is fed from the DAW return. At least that’s how I interpret it.
Maybe it’s a bypass? But yeah kinda confusing.
