Don’t nudge before recording.
Without nudge, all your recordings are synced together.
Ah yeah definitely should not be nudging. But I get your issue. Read a bit about midi sync introducing some latency. You can indeed try global latency compensation. Then just make sure you don’t nudge and it should be fine I guess
Another solution would be to not use midi sync. I used the xone db4 for a long time as a looper and without a daw it’s impossible to sync it. As long as you make sure the internal clock is set to the same bpm as your hardware, you should have tight loops. The db4 and Elektron stuff had a super tight clock and after testing it would take 20+ minutes before a loop would go out of sync to the point where it became slightly noticeable but even then not enough for it to be a problem. I’m guessing the rc500 also has quite a tight clock so you could try that. And even if it would go out of sync a little , then nudging actually would make sense
I don’t use the MIDI sync on the pedal. Like @DaveMech suggests, I just set the BPM on my stuff the same where I can. Two reasons - not all the devices in my setup have MIDI sync, and also I’ve seen people driving themselves crazy trying to get everything to work right. I’d rather spend the time on performing the set better.
Same here
Midi link, just manual tempo set
Can you ‘hold’ the live incoming sound a split second, after the loop recorder ?to optimize the offset of the loop to conpensate latency for tight sampling
I know it can be inconvenient, but did you try with the looper master ? I think I did that with the RC 500 and Octatrack…
IIRC it worked pretty well…
Yes, I did.
But this also annoyed me in loopy pro
In ableton I correct it, in Octatrack it is no problem
Even when making a perfect 128 beat loop in dt makes me adjust (nudge) tempo so ‘sync offset’, no problem though, i have a lot of experience djing vinyls, makes a dt live set more ‘Alive’
Free sync scares me !
But buggy sync sucks !
Guys, get on that Aeros Loop Studio…
Done. I didn’t keep it.
I have one…Still not quite what I’m after
