Looking for some heavy D&B samples for my RYTM

Can anyone point me in the right direction in getting some D&B style samples that are compatible with the RYTM? I want to make some dark and heavy drums with this thing and it seems to be missing the core samples out of the box. Thanks in advance!

It is quite difficult to find some good ones…but i use sample packs from Danny Bird & Levela…plus some samples which i have gathered over the years for my MPC (they work also for the Rytm).

Cut a loop, load it in rytm, play and slice it with scenes… nice basis for dnb

I think the OP is referring to those über-processed oneshot drum sounds that have been used alot in dnb ever since Roni Size stopped using breakbeat loops and started using drum machines? Back in the day I heard some peeps saying it was processed prince and michael jackson drumhits, but no idea where they came from really…

Have you checked out the sample section on Elektron, they have a ton of dirty, digital samples in their soundpacks for RYTM. You could also grab that D&B sample pack for Octatrack, yes it might be overkill but they have at least 79 drum hits just there, not to mention loops you can process and use.

If you can’t find there then head over LoopMasters, Sample Magic or whatever other sample store people can recommend (I don’t know any  )

The loopmasters Octatrack set is SO much fun. The scenes are an amazing show of what the Octatrack can do.

Check bhk samples. Thank me later.

Thank you all for the suggestions!

So yeah to be more specific I’m kind of looking for both hits and possibly loops, although since I have a RYTM I’m sensing that it doesn’t do loops as well as something like the Octatrack.

I’m not looking to make DnB dance music on this thing really, but I have an affinity for those sounds and I want to use them as a foundation for whatever happens once I get the hang of it.

A question for @atimchak (or anyone really): do you know if the scenes would also work on the RYTM?

@Lemajik will do and thanks!

I don’t think the scenes will work for the Rytm - different file types/macros than the Rytm but as above you can program the scenes to be similar - instead of using the crossfader the pressure macro on the pads will interpolate values so it’s possible to do something similar.

Have a look at our Dubstep Rytm sound pack. Listen to the audio demos and you can image the use in drum and bass.

Thanks for the tip! I didn’t know there were 3rd parties putting together sound packs for the rytm. I noticed it was the only one on the site, but I’m not complaining.

Lit!

Just sample any Pendulum song for dat 200hz punchy snare …

Its all layering…EQ and a little compression…I’ve always done that work in my DAW…sometimes up to 3 channels all sent to one bus for a single kick or snare sound…

Goldbaby Dirt n Layers is a great secret weapon for modern layered kick snare sounds.

Sure no problem! If you are looking for a load of one shot samples for the rytm you could look at

There is a massive amount of drum sounds all top quality.

I think the Rytm is great for chopping up old funk loops. You can find loads to download online. Just pitch up the loops and split over pads, use the Low Tom for sub bass,
