Longer Patterns?

Which is the max number of measures that can be recorded in a pattern? And can I midi record using my synth’s keyboard?

I am looking to record a midi pattern of 64 measures or more, using the external synth’s keys… in order for the Octatrack to sequence my synth when I press play, just as I played it (the sequence).

Thanks!!

64 steps is the maximum per pattern, i’m not sure if u can record over two consecutive chained patterns, you can record on the midi tracks and it’ll capture an external keyboard just fine - it will be discretized to 16 events per bar (maybe quantized) and you’ll not capture any (inbetween) expression except at those 16 intervals per page unlike on a DAW where aftertouch could be continuously recorded !

at more than 24 steps starts blinking and it doesn’t record more than 16, or at least that’s how it looks…

So, how can I really make the pattern longer than 24? Only by making the master track longer?

So you have your pattern scale set to 64 steps ?

Are you sure you haven’t inadvertently set an individual track length of 24 ?

Ok, I see from this reply you have set “per track” in your pattern settings.

Switch it back to “normal” for now or, with “per track active” as you currently have it, set the scale so it reads 64/64 with master at 64.

I see. Thanks!

Also can I record, using my external synth’s keyboard, chords, on each of the midi tracks?
