London Octatracks?

Hi,

Is anyone based in London with an Octatrack. ?
I have had this issue with mine since I bought it where the USB port doesn’t work. I’ve tried it on a few computers, and with several leads with no luck.

I sent it to support in Sweden, they had it for a month and apparantly replaced the entire board, I plugged it in, it worked for a day and then stopped working again.

Support are now no longer responding to my support calls at all.

I’d appreciate anyone in London sending me a PM so I can bring my Octatrack around to theirs so they can try it with their computer and USB lead so I can just establish at what point in the chain this error is occurring ?

Support have washed their hands of this situation (despite my Octatrack still being within guarantee period)

Did you try different ways to connect your Octatrack to the computer ?

Is the USB cable is connected to the computer before you switch on ? (in my case, it does not work if i plug the USB cable after the Octa is powered on).

Thanks for the reply. I have tested extensively yes. There’s a couple of threads from a whole back where I worked through the various ways/sequences of turning on and so forth. The really annoying thing is the ‘USB’# test in the self testing mode returns ‘USB OK’.

How so? Are they just not responding or have they confirmed as such with you? They really are having a shocker with their customer service!

I’m down on the south coast but may well be visiting friends in London next week, if you have had no joy by then I could bring my OT up with me.

I’m not so far, i live in Normandy (France), but too far. Hope you will find the cause.

I’ve logged a support call (about two weeks ago) and had no response other than ‘please describe the issue in detail’
Hopefully they’re just been sluggish in responding, but the complete lack of response does make me think they’ve given up on this (for me ) recurring issue. Generous offer of you to assist. I’m reluctant to put you out too much as I can’t be certain when I’ll be free next week. I was hoping there’d be someone who lived in London which would be a bit more feasible. But genuinely , thanks for offering :slight_smile:

Let’s hope this recruitment drive they’ve been on will mean that they can offer some customer service on a par with the amazing devices they create.

No worries on the offer. I’ll keep an eye on this thread and give you a shout when heading to London if you are still needing some help.

Yeah I remain optimistic. I do love the Octatrack, but it’s just a real worry that the Compact Card slot will fail or something and render it totally useless. Not to mention that fact the if I were to ever sell it (I know - how weirdly unrealistic) that I’d lose money… which doesn’t seem right given that I paid full price for it and have treated it with utmost respect ever since !
