Logic X Overbridge Program Changes Pattern Change

Holy heck I can’t figure this out.
I’ve spent 4hours searching here and YouTube trying to get it working.
Trying to make pattern blocks in Logic to transmit patter changes in the RYTM
I’ve tried with overbridge and as an external instrument.
I can get limited functionality with either option.

Anyone out there using a method in logic for PChange the patterns?
What’s the dumbed down guide for an idiot like myself?

Thanks

Hello,

I do it like this, and it works.
1., create a new Midi Track for external Instrument. Same Midi Chanel like the prg.ch. Chanel of your Rytm. (at the Rytm prg.Chg. resieve enabled of course)
2., Create an empty Midi Region.
3., Select empty Region, go to Event Editor (top right) press “+” and write your prg.chg. nr. (I’m at work and have no logic here. At this point it’s a little bit tricky, because you have to write again the Midi Chnl.Nr and write the Prg.Chg. Nr at the right place)
It took some time for me untill it worked, but it works.

Machinedrum would do this no problem, just send a MIDI note (starting at C0 I believe? on a particular performance channel, I dont exactly remember now) and the currently playing pattern would change. I’m working on a song in Logic, I have a drum pattern and a variation programmed on A9 and A10, I want to sequence changing between the two patterns from Logic. I can’t find anything about this online or in the manual, I’ve tried sending program change messages but it doesnt seem to work. Can the Rytm Mk2 do this or not? Also applies to the A4 mk2 which I also have.

Both the AR MkII and the AF MkII can respond to a MIDI Program Change message as described by @tubman above; see 8.6 of the AR MkII manual.

The AF MkII also has a Multi Map feature (like the MD’s Map) where an incoming MIDI Note message can select a new pattern: see 12.5.4 of the AF MkII manual.

Thanks Peter, I didn’t have PRG CHG RECEIVE enabled in the SYNC menu, whoops.

Hey there, if you’re still there!

I have to put that midi note a beat before I want the change which can be frustrating when looping. Have you found a workaround that?
