Do we have a general Logic thread here (ie. for the Mac version)?
I use a old apogee duet ios version, very cheap on used market and much better soundquality than plugging headphones directly, portable and can be powered by the ipad to and the apogee have a usb input on it for midi keyboards
Iāve got one of these, usb keyboard and wired headphones. Works fine also letās me plug in a screen, although I think you need a iPad Pro for that feature.
if you donāt want to use Bluetooth for audio, there are various USB-C Hubs on the market to solve the problem.
the smallest I have, has a USB-C port I can use for the USB headphone adapter and a USB-A port for a keyboard. (in that case I canāt charge the same time)
another one has audio 3,5 mm, USB-C PD (for charging), USB-A, and a unused HDMI port.
My pianoās got bluetooth, though.
Iām thinking maybe using the piano for keys, when I need them, and my TP-7 as an audio interface to plug in my headphones (that already works, Iāve tried it).
So maybe ⦠Iām good already?
I use Bluetooth for MIDI (WIDI) with all of my synths. No connection issues with iPad.
Iām good then
Also, the TP-7 as an audio interface seems like a great option to both monitor and record audio from the iPad. Itās small, runs on batteries, has lots of ins and outs and is just generally quite neat. And output quality is great.
Just saw the Andertonās video with TP-7 and TX-7 combo. ātafuck⦠those bits work marvellously together. The combo price thoā ā¦
Iām thinking about using theTX-6 as ipad audio interface with Logic Pro.
Yep, thatād work too. If it can receive on all six channels, thatās tempting in its own right. On the other hand, I believe I can get at least as good a mix in Logic as on the TX-6, so I donāt see the point of using a mixer in this context the plugs Iāve tried thatās just bundled with Logic, sound pretty great. Iād just trade one algoritm for another if I used the TX-6, so the TP-7 it is for me.
What will the TP-7 be used for?
It can be useful if somebody plans recording into Logic several signals at a time on different tracks. (I.E. on a small live session) (OP-1, PO-33, NT-1, Microkorg, external effectsā¦) It can be a good option to capture the energy of a live set up and being able to get the separated signals to remix, or soā¦
For recording one signal at a time and monitor⦠maybe is too much, well⦠for sure it is.
Audio in and out the goddam iPad doesnāt have a headphone plug anymore. And also, I can record my piano noodles directly into Logic with this.
Ah yeah, very true. Iāve always been a one signal at a time kind of guy, but youāre totally right, as a small live rig for multiple inputs, Iād imagine itās the dream.
As a fan of the iOS app SAMPLR, itās awesome that the new Mac updates for Sample Alchemy mimic many of the SAMPLR features such as granular, bow, looping, scrub, etc. I use the laptop version of Logic but Iām very tempted to start using the iPad version of Logic. Beat Breaker looks very promising as well to alter jams in Logic. Overall, an impressive update.
Sorry I shouldāve been more clear. Why use a 1500,- device just for stereo I/O?
Why not use a proper audio interface that cost less than 10% of that?
Cause I already have a TP-7 and I donāt have an audio interface. So for me, thatād be more money to spend.
But in general, your argument makes a lot of sense
Whoa.
So this Sample Alchemy thing is Samplr?
Iām
