Thank you for responding.
I was sad to see the OG UIs for those plugins hadn’t survived haha
The old plugins looked a bit messy but these new GUI’s have absolutely no character. Very safe very uninspiring. The entire app actually looks too clean but I guess we’ll have to live with that.
Yes
ouff. that’s just sad.
Thanks!
Agreed, they look really dull and a bit half arsed! But there are plenty of nice AUv3s to use so all good!
Yeah, I mean, certainly the emagic ones looked dated, (I literally feel a little embarrassed when pulling up ES 1), and I’m not saying we need little animated blast-shield to slide over disabled oscillators (though I wouldn’t say no to it, either!)
But looking at this, how’s someone to know that the last half of OSC1’s waveform goes into FM while 2 and 3’s are PWM? It’s just a usability problem. And the way OSC3’s settings split across the line?
It looks like they made themselves a tool that takes a declarative layout and displays a set of generic controls in an arbitrary space — which ends up just being a long list of knobs arranged left-to-right that breaks across lines like a run-on sentence. If that’s what you have to do to get a product out the door, great! I’d much rather have a confusing, dull, mess of an ES2 than none at all.
But we’ve seen the creativity AUv3 creators have been bringing to this space for years. I hope Apple gets the chance to go back and dress up their first-party plugs a bit more.
Sunriser and Twin3 work great in Logic, BTW
I just try with my og Op-1 and it works. Oh my. This is amazing!
I got the Fabfilter bundle years ago. finally it’s gonna get some use. Well after I bought a new iPad.
Read Logic for desktop has an update - presume for iPad integration
This is really great. I heard that iPadOS 17 was bringing this feature, but great that Logic is able to use it ahead of time. If a little cheeky.
It’s incredible with my op-1f. Being able to use all the effects and record straight to loops or linear on a compact device like an ipad with stereo solid speakers is game changing for me. Just that, then it’s also a full on daw.
The battery on my 2020 pro 11 inch drains fast af though.
Not that I was gonna pay for iPad Logic…I wanted to try out the 30 day, just to see how it compared. Unfortunately [naturally] MyPad fell JUST outside of spec.
Something I really didn’t expect to come to the iPad version was folder stacks and summing stacks, but they’re both there.
Hopefully not too OT, but Modalics released Beat Scholar for the iPad today. How funny would it be if the IDM/breakcore renaissance comes from zoomers using their parent’s ipads?
So who has checked to see if their DAW controllers are working?
I tested Nanokontrol 2 and Behringer XTouch. No luck so far
it’s a sign from the universe to hold back
