Hi there. I’m new to synths … REALLY new. I only have the Digitone and headphones. I’m looking for something that will allow me to listen to the DN through my closed back headphones, and also listen to the computer (for online DN tutorials, etc.) at the same. I didn’t want to get a set of cheap throwaway speakers just for this purpose. Seems silly, I know, but I don’t want to bother anyone else late at night when I’m doing this.
I don’t mind investing and spending some money on a piece of gear that I can eventually use, or keep using, in my setup. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Hi!
You need an audio interface for such tasks.
A cheap one like steinberg ur22mk2 should be enough.
You can plug headphones into it, and have proper midi interface too.
You can put a mic into it or synth (you get 4 ins that you can use mono or stereo…).
It also has line outputs to plug it into your amp if in need.
It’s usb powered too, so you don’t need another psu.
Another option would be to overbridge your digitone into your computer - but anyway, a proper audio interface is something you could miss in the long run.
Sorry, “no”. Why an audio interface four such a simple task? It isn’t really about the best audio quality …
The Digitone can take in another stereo audio source and mix it with its own output.
Just use a cable from the computer headphone jacks into the digitone inputs and plug the headphone into the digitone’s headphone jack. So all you need is an y-cable with a 3.5mm (depends on your computer, of course) stereo plug on one side and 2x 6.3mm mono jacks on the other side. Problem solved for about 5 bucks.
Yup i second that, i was going to say pretty much the same thing.
This is the Easy fix. (its also in the manual) You will have to set the volume though, for it to pass through in the mix
You can listen and watch youtube tutorials as you play the synth.
Just connect the Digitone to your computer with the USB cable it came with and select the Digitone as your audio output on your computer. Plug your headphones into Digitone and that’s it.
As far as I know is the Digitone NOT USB audio compatible (yet?). So no plug&play like with the Model:Samples.
When you want to use it as USB audio interface you need to use Overbridge BETA which may not be an option when using an older laptop. At least when you want to watch simultaneously video tutorials it becomes quickly a crackling mess …
There are really already laptops without a headphone jack?
This world is going down damn fast. Soon childs will be born without ears, but antennas …
