Wow. LiquidTransmitter continuing to squeeze the Analog Keys for all it’s worth! Amazing demonstration of the breadth of sounds and textures available from this device. But beyond that it’s just great music. Congrats on another solid release. Really love those pads and filtered bells on Part III. Gorgeous.

The one-machine-at-a-time approach suits how I compose - building up layers of long improvised takes, discovering new sounds through subtle knob changes. Anything more complex than that, and I just get confused.
It is also a very deliberate way to avoid the constant sound hunting that happens (to me anyway) with too many instrument choices. Instead, I focus on what happens when a collection of sounds all come from a similar ‘voice’, as with the AKeys.

One instrument at a time is definitely the best way to do it! The A4/AK is excellent with this for me personally. I’ve always been kinda a maximalist when it comes to track making, but working with limited voices forces me to prioritize which sounds are actually going into the track. This results in my output to be more varied than when I have an abundance of sounds to throw in.

Thanks very much @Ryan! Yes, there is also something sonically very interesting that happens when all, or most, elements come from one source - it creates a distinct timbral interplay and, in the case of analog equipment anyway, this ‘breath’ to the sound which I’ve always enjoyed.

Bleedin’ beatiful. Harmonics and ambience blend into something truly inspiring work. Showed this to my mate who’s just bought an A4. Needless to say, he was all over this at once. Outstanding work.

Lovely tones/textures here. I really need to spend some time with my AK to get under the skin of it and hit these sort of vibes. Some of the pads/drones have an almost “clean” Boards of Canada vibe to it (a good thing!).
Out of interest, how do you build your tunes? Do you track out a piece at a time or multi track and layer?

Ah! I love dub techno! I make a sort of weird hybrid-but-not-quite dub techno myself. Would love to hear your earlier dub techno work.

Ah, very nice work! Quite the back catalog you’ve got. Lots of nice releases, both older Dub Techno and your new stuff! Like that name too, Overcast Sound. Not sure why, but I tend to love listening to Dub Techno on rainy/cloudy days. Makes sense to me.
