Leo Maymind: Offering Production, Mixing and Mastering Services

Hi all,

I’ve been meaning to make a post like this for quite some time but life kept getting in the way! I’ve met / jammed / interacted with so many good folks through this forum and I’d love to extend that circle even further.

Some of you on here know me from my music (Maymind), some of you may know from my writing for Future Music and Music Radar, but I am mostly dedicating my time these days to producing and mixing other artists.

I figured now was as good a time as any, as I just recently finished mixing this release for @Azzarole (which was a joy to work on!)

About Me
In terms of my background, I’ve been a musician for over twenty years, and an audio engineer for over fifteen years. I’ve worked FOH / live sound in many venues in both New York and LA, as well as spending countless hours in actual studios, most of which are sadly gone at this point.

I have a private home studio in LA equipped with Adam monitors and a sub in a room I know very well. I don’t want to get into listing gear here, because I really believe it’s how you use the gear much more than what you have, but I do have a few small outboard things. Most of my tools are in the box and in my head, between the ears.

What I Can Do For You

I’m primarily interested in working on mixing, whether its live sets, studio tracks, or any sort of hybrid. I’m also available to be brought in as an additional producer, as I’m very good at taking an idea that is maybe 70-80% there and turning it into a full fledged production. Even better if you are in the LA area and would like to work together in person. I’m also available for mastering.

My rates are flexible, as I’m still trying to grow as a mix engineer and increase my clientele base. Please reach out if you’d like to chat.

You can listen to some stuff I’ve worked on here.

Thanks all!

I can highly recommend working with @maymind_trax! I gave him material that was kinda hard to work with, since all of the main drums and melodic elements lived on only one stereo track each. He did a great job polishing these and managed to make it all sit together nicely with my vocals!

He’s also a really nice guy who will give you constructive feedback when asked and will make his own decisions based on some parameters of what you envision and what’s important to you. So I can see how he’d make for a good producer who helps you bring your ideas across the finish line.

I’ve been seeing a LOT of posts on the forum recently about people who are having trouble finding the motivation to finish their tracks and get them out to the universe, so I’m gently bumping this thread.

Helping others finish music is my favorite thing to do.

Reasonable / flexible rates, so hmu if you want to chat.

Hi everyone,

I know it’s shit times out there right now, in so many ways, especially in the US. I hope everyone is staying strong in the face of the ever-growing fascism we are facing here. Getting your music out in the world and continuing with your artisitic pursuits, however futile as it may seem, is one way to stand strong against these forces.

To that end, I currently have some openings in my schedule for taking on other projects, so if you’ve considering getting someone to help you produce, mix or master your work, I’d love to chat.

I just recently wrapped up a project where I remotely produced, mixed and mastered for a client. That project features electronic drums with some guitars, synths, and bass (some of which I also played). You can check that out here. If you’re wondering how I produced this from afar, let’s chat, I’ll go through the process with you.

Cheers, peace and love to all here.

Just jumping on here to give @maymind_trax a big recommendation for anyone looking for mixing and mastering. Leo just wrapped up mixing and mastering four tracks for me and I’m really happy with how they turned out.

It was my first time outsourcing this stage of the process, but he was easy to communicate with and really respectful of the original vibe of the demos while also bringing them to a much more release-ready place.

If anyone’s on the fence about sending their tracks out, I’d definitely recommend reaching out to him. Also worth checking out his own music, you can really hear the level of care and detail he brings to his work.

Can’t speak highly enough of my guy.

Knows his shit, has impeccable ears and is a real pro in how he goes about communicating.

If you want help with your mix, don’t even hesitate.

Thank you so much guys, really appreciate the kind words. Was an absolute joy to work on tracks for @LoudClouds. Both he and @Fin25 have some great work coming up. The level of artistry and creativity amongst folks on this forum is incredibly inspiring and I’m grateful to be a part of it. Can’t wait for everyone to hear this music.

If anyone else wants to chat, please do reach out. I’m booked up for the first half of March but have some openings after that.

Reviving this topic to share some recent work!

The EP I mixed and mastered for @LoudClouds (aka Glyph Notes) is now out here. Four really great tracks that should appeal to fans of Four Tet, Floating Points, Suzanne Kraft, dub techno. Thanks again, Jack, for entrusting me with making these tunes sound as good as they should!

Premonition, the new banging drum n bass single for Joezerony that I mixed and mastered is also now out here. Super deep track that was a blast to put some shine on.

I also produced, mixed and mastered an album by a new artist I’m really excited about but I can’t share yet because its not available publicly, but if you’d like to hear it, DM me and I can share some samples.

Currently producing some tracks with @PascalPrecht for his upcoming debut EP. Sounding great already, really excited to share when the time comes as well.

I’m booked up until the end of 2026 as of now (thankfully!) but I’m taking on new clients for 2027, so if you’d like to work with someone who is extremely passionate about getting the best for your music, please get in touch. Getting things on the calendar early helps secure timing. I love working with folks on this forum that are highly motivated to get their music out.

Cheers!

As mentioned by Pascal in his post, he just put out his debut single, Afterglow, as ITERIA, which I co-produced, mixed and mastered.

Happy to answer any questions if anyone has any about the process.
