I was hoping it would be a new sequencer trick like the awesome MD X.05 firmware that has ‘lanes’ - where each track can be loaded independently of the pattern. I think that might be a step too far if the image is real though.

Could still be tracks pulled from separate takes with differring master reverb settings ?
cv in with sequencer destinations like the mother 32 would be pretty sweet too. like clocking with lfos or play/stop with cv modulation or even just using a function generator as a mod source
maybe this box is “urban” themed somehow, whereas the marketing for the black analogs was organic/dirt and the digitone was crystal/ice

Are everyone unanimous that it’s FM in the music? I’m not that in to FM so I wouldn’t be able to judge properly but can’t the sounds we’re hearing be AM or Ring Modulation?

It definitely sounds like wavetable or fm to me. Too glassy and you can hear folding in some of the pads. You “might” be able to achieve this with analog waves but I’m sticking with a digital implementation. It could also be a sampler. As long as it’s not a mono sampler, I’m interested.

Hopefully an Octatrack 2 with a better Output quality (DA Converter), Midi over USB, no more Project-Bank-Part-Pattern limitations, better FX, better Display and perhaps Video integration

Then again, what if that Syntakt is just a bait made by them and the actual product is subscribtion based software or a service. I still think that might happen…
New OT would be amazing but the demo doesn’t feel like that’s what it’s demoing to me.
I like the idea of it being Wavetable based personally, and would make more sense than another FM machine - unless they want to make FM their thing.
I’m still hoping it’s not the image that’s been leaked, feels like a box that’s trying to do too much and doesn’t really feel like it pairs well with the takt and tone. Sometimes it’s hard to know initially how a company is targeting something but if its a new Digi box I’d expect something that adds to the existing lineup.
