Left / Right difference

So I just got my mixer and I noticed a difference in the signal strength between the left and right output. The right seems to be slightly louder. I tried switching the cables (TRS Cordial) but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I’m noticing the same on my Digitone as well. I think I had seen the difference on the Analog Heat meters but now that I saw it on my mixer as well it made me wonder. I see there are some other threads about different Elektron devices with the same problem. Ideas why is that happening?

How much louder?

it looks like 2-3 dB

double checked - it’s just a mixer issue. when connecting directly into Heat both outputs are equal

mackie 1202? I’ve had two with the exact same “feature”. I guess it’s great if you are mixing in mono - then you have a safety in case one channel clips.

yes 1202. I don’t think it’s that big of a problem. It’s a minimal analog mixer with good sound and routing options at a nice price. Can’t really complain.

you inspired me to reach out to tech support. they got back immediately and said the meters “tend to favor” the left channel in the meters approximation of the output. i wonder why then my alt 3/4 buss is dead on - calibration and qc apparently are not what they once were for a $300 mixer. as you say i’ve moved on - i wouldn’t depend on it for critical work but it doesn’t get in the way of cranking it up and jumping around.
